I am a marine biologist and ocean-lover making videos on all sorts of awesome marine science and ocean-related stuff. Come join me in some underwater adventures!
You can follow me on other social media just below ;)
In my last video, posted 3 months ago, I explained I was going on an expedition. I'm working on a video about the entire voyage, old school vlog-styles, including all the hard bits. It will probably be posted in the upcoming weeks, but until then you can check out this short video I created from on-board, for the University of Vienna:
Wait what?! Two videos in one week?! I know... miracles do happen. I wasn't going to talk about this, but this discovery is so exciting that I changed my mind. I just had to make a short video to share this incredible groundbreaking research with you all! I hope you enjoy it!
Hey everyone! I'll be making a Q&A while building leggo (yep) video and answering some questions I've been getting about marine biology, science communication, ocean and stuff in general. Anyone have any questions? Write away!
Hi everyone! As some of you might know, I'm currently working as a full-time freelance science communicator for a variety of projects and organizations. One of the projects I am working for, RESTORESEAS, studies marine forests' conservation and restoration along the Atlantic coasts. Marine forests include coral reefs, seagrass meadows and seaweed banks. I just wanted to share some of the stuff I have been doing with them, cause I think it's AWESOME! Here is a video showcasing an e-bike workshop I developed together with an incredible team at the Natural History Museum of Vienna.

So I just scripted, filmed and half-edited a full video about whale sharks and some crazy interactions with other fish, filmed for the first time in a documentary I watched last year. I trust the information in the documentary, as I know the researchers in it. However the research mentioned has not yet been published, and I'm a bit reluctant to make a full video talking about a cool, potentially ground-breaking piece of fish lore, without it having been published in a peer-reviewed journal. It might give the impression that documentaries are reliable sources of scientific information, even without peer-reviewed studies to back them up. I'm not sure yet if I'll publish the video or not. I think I might wait until the research is published, and just publish the video I have now on Patreon (sneaky Patreon plugin alert!) Anyway, once the research is out I will definitely make a video about it, cause whale sharks are AWESOME! However, this means I won't have a video next week, since I'll be on holidays :/ But after next week... I hear The Meg 2 is available for purchase :D
Hey lovely people, My second channel lives! I haven't posted there for a long time, but now it's back up and running! I'm back playing Horizon Zero Dawn, but there will be some marine related-gaming coming up there very soon :D 2nd channel --> youtube.com/@marpi2264
The trip to Indonesia is over, and it was epic! Breathtaking views, fun and challenging experiences (I did the most difficult hike I have ever done), and really incredible people. It was so awesome to meet some of you in person, and I really hope to repeat this experience. It is one I will always cherish. And the marine life here... HOLY MOLY! Unlike anything I've ever seen! I was so overwhelmed by the amount of fish, I didn't even know where to look. In the meanwhile, I decided to stay in Indonesia for a couple more weeks to do some more diving. I'll also take a course on coral restoration and hopefully be able to contribute, even if just a little bit, to coral restoration of local reefs. I'll keep you all posted on how that goes! :D Videos can be expected.
In the meanwhile, here are 5 photos taken during the last two weeks. There were so many epic moments it was difficult to choose.
