Geology channel focusing on my personal field work as well as geology education and entertainment. #geology #rocks #science #earth #stem

I am based in the USA in the state of New Jersey and focus my field research on three areas:

1) The structure and convergent tectonics of the Appalachian Mountain region.

2) The structure and divergent tectonics of the Newark Basin and associated Mesozoic Rift Basins along the eastern margin of North America.

3) The stratigraphy of the Atlantic Coastal Plain in New Jersey.

Interesting outcrop-scale crinkle folds in the Ordovician-age Jacksonburg Formation.

This outcrop is located in a former limestone quarry in Whitehall, Pennsylvania.

The Mafic Side

Hey everyone! Thanks for subscribing. I want to make geology content for anyone who is interested. I'm throwing out a question to get a sense of my audience's background.

Do you know what the theory of plate tectonics is?

The Mafic Side

Southeast-dipping sedimentary rock outcrop near the summit of High Point, New Jersey. This rock outcrop is the remnant of an ancient fold that formed due to the assembly of the supercontinent Pangea during the Paleozoic Era. #geology

The Earth isn’t flat. This was demonstrated experimentally over 2,000 years ago.

Lots of good content here.

Shows how geologic processes like plate tectonics, weathering, and erosion cause some wild stuff to happen to our planet over millions of years.
