Acclaimed bassist Kengo Nakamura returns to BODY&SOUL Shibuya — a cornerstone of the Japanese jazz community for over half a century — to honour Kyoko "Kyoko Mama" Seki, the venue's owner and a true matriarch of the Tokyo jazz scene.

In a rare departure from his signature acoustic sound, Nakamura leads his New Electric Trio: stepping onto the electric bass to bridge BODY&SOUL's historic legacy with a contemporary pulse. With Ayaka Toyohide on piano and Toyoaki Sekine on drums, the trio honours the weight of the stage while fearlessly expanding what a piano trio can sound like.
