As you may know, we hit 100k subscribers on this channel about a month ago! Wooo!

When you hit 100k subs on YouTube, you get a cool silver plaque.

You can also pay for additional plaques ($150 per) if you want extra, so I ordered a couple extra for my team.

Unfortunately one of the awards came with this weird splotchy discoloration, so of course I reached out to their support to get a replacement. I mean, I have multiple other plaques to compare to, and this is the only one with the crappy discoloration.

Well guess what? They refuse to send me a new one! I reached out to them on 7/25 about this, and here we are on 8/19 without a resolution. They just refuse to replace it, despite me paying $150 for it and it looking like crap. So I just filed a chargeback with my credit card company.


To be clear, I don't know if this is a YouTube issue or a Society Awards issue. Society Awards is the company that makes these things. I think it's a Society Awards issue because I paid extra for this one, rather than it being the free one YouTube sends you.

I wanted to share because I find it absurd how often I have to deal with stuff like this nowadays. These big companies are constantly sending out garbage, and don't stand behind their products. And when you talk to customer support, they are also no help. This is literally the 2nd time I've had to resort to a CC chargeback in just the last week (I avoid CC chargebacks unless I feel like I have no other option). I mean I paid $150 for this, how is this quality acceptable? It doesn't wipe off or anything btw, it's just a problem with the plaque.

Is anyone else having major issues with the quality of things you buy these days, and the crappiness of customer service? Prices have gone way up, and quality has gone way down ever since 2020... this can't just be me, right?
