A great way to celebrate your loved ones in heaven is by giving back.
We did this last year to honor my mom, who is in heaven, as well as Hollis’s mom and dad. For us, it made their memory even sweeter, and it brought us happiness knowing that, because they were such loving and giving people, we could do a small memorial for them here on earth.
Many seniors don’t have anyone, and those on Medicare often don’t have the funds to buy personal items like socks, sweaters, hairbrushes, or toothbrushes. So I like to add some when I can. Last year, I bought the Sam’s Club special—extra-thick blankets for around $14.95. It made me smile imagining someone in a cold nursing home being wrapped in a warm blanket.
The cards are available at the Palatka, Florida Walmart, and the gifts are due by December 19, 2025. The address to send them to is listed on the cards. If your Walmart doesn’t have a Christmas tree for seniors, you might consider asking if they can start one.
