Do you own 1 of these floor mops? These mops will layer a film/coating from hell on your tile and grout. I do not recommend.

🚿 Thinking about removing and replacing your shower grout?
Like anything, it has its positives and negatives 👇
✅ Positives:
Restores a fresh, clean look 🧼
Eliminates mold, mildew, and stains that can’t be cleaned
Strengthens water protection and prevents leaks
Adds value to your bathroom
⚠️ Negatives:
Can be labor-intensive and messy 🛠️
Risk of damaging tiles if not done carefully
Requires skill and proper tools for best results
If sealing is skipped, the new grout can get dirty (soap scum and body oils) quickly again!
Best Idea: Replace with Cultured Marble. No seams, no grout, easy care, easy maintenance.

Can acid-based chemicals like vinegar disintegrate and/or discolor your grout?
✅ What Happens When You Use Vinegar on Grout
Grout is porous (basically cement + sand). Acids eat away at those pores.
Vinegar and other acidic cleaners (like lemon juice or some “bathroom cleaners”) break down the cement binder in grout.
Over time, this causes grout to:
Weaken (crumbles, cracks).
Lose color (fades or looks blotchy).
Become more porous, so dirt and stains soak in even faster.
⚡ Why People Think Vinegar Works
Vinegar can make tile look cleaner at first because it dissolves surface minerals and soap scum.
But that’s short-term, and the damage builds up.
🚫 What to Use Instead
Neutral pH cleaners (made for stone, tile, grout).
Warm water + mild dish soap (blue dawn) for quick cleanups.
Professional alkaline cleaners (for deep cleaning) — followed by rinsing and sealing.
🔹 Solutions for Acid-Damaged Grout
1. Light Surface Damage (Etching, Fading, Porosity)
Deep clean with an alkaline-based tile/grout cleaner to neutralize any leftover acid.
Thorough rinse with clean water.
Dry completely, then apply a penetrating sealer to help strengthen and protect what’s left.

Buying a Spin Mop could make your floors filthier than they were before you started using it.
