The subject matter was in regards to Gov Laws and him blaming America and the EU for all Vietnam's flaws.

Visa runs concepts of 2027?

This is ONLY Talk, this is NOT on paper, desk, or planning
The ONES talking about it though are the ONES that matter about this stuff

Let me share with you guys an Idea for 2027 Tourist Visa situation

Situational removal of over extended "Visa renewals" without Abandonment at the border chaos.

(People online complain about VN entry and all their things are still in Da nang or other city in their condo, etc) This in it self is a MAJOR concern for "Many" as it'll bring very bad press to Vietnam as an unstable and unorganized country to outside tourism.

Plan as followed:

Update eVisa to have the ability to extend 1 time, following Cambodia and Thailand process. Said eVisa would possible be reduced to 45 days with a renewal adding 45 for a total of 90 days.

After a renewal a Visa run is required. This is NOT a cash grab as many might think, but more of slowly without bad press removing long term stayers in Vietnam that do not provide a service, pay taxes, or just hide out in villages.

The Reason this works for the total tourism, immigration, and local tourism job market. 85% (Give or take +5/-5) are Asian tourist, which do not extend past 3 weeks and are almost always on some type of paid group tour. They are NOT living but just traveling and leaving.

These tourist tend to spend 1,500 to 2,300 USD per visit and do not return, and for those that do it follows the next year not the same day after a visa expires.

A 45 Day Visa not only reduces over stayers which are almost exclusively people from The Americas, Australia and the EU/UK - It gives almost double the needed time for the LARGEST and most profitable tourist groups.

What this means for Visa runners?

If this was to be used in 2027 (Again this is here say with many people that in fact can sign such deals to make a Decree for consideration)

This would require a visa runner to now every 6 weeks ether do a quick Visa run or Renew a visa stamp. Cost of the stamp? Probably 15 to 20$ as it already is now for the 90 day one.

This avoids the BIGGEST problem for Vietnam is bad public press for visa runners being left at a border being rejected. Image being stuck at Lao Bao or Moc Bai, it would be horrible, there is almost nothing to do at these borders for 100KM and if the visa runner only had with them money in cash and a camera this could be a serious problem and the projection of VN as being the "Bad guy"

SO this new idea some what makes it a bit annoying for visa runners, while not affecting the 85% of tourist income. Doing this also starts to filter out visa runners and keeping in those that bring value to Vietnam economy.

Paying 500 a month and tipping local shops despite what youtubers say DOES NOT HELP THE GOV at all economically

We have seen updates in 2025 that challenges English teachers for new documents and longer paper work processes taking up to 6 months were in 2024 and before took less than 3 weeks to complete. There has also been new taxes added to western workers salaries that started rolling out in 2023/24.



I could keep going on with this but I'll leave it here.
Again this is NOT in stone it is table talk with people that can in fact move this forward and I am just 'Curious" on your guys thoughts on this as a Visa runner or someone that is on a TRC in general.

Glad to say, after realizing the local doctor sucked, the pharmacy had no idea what drugs are for what Dr. Rock had to take things and we are now doing great.

Remember Health care in Vietnam is better than America - Just don't ever need anything serious or basic done :)

Starting to think Teachers will have no Jobs soon in Vietnam and its due to new random changes in some schools. Already Local parents are talking about it and some are happy their kids will pass others are calling out the B/S

To improve education quality, the Ministry of Education and Training is adjusting some evaluation criteria for students. Starting school year 2026-2027:

Spelling mistakes won't be deducted in essay subjects.
No more oral exams — only written.
Cut monthly tests down to one per semester.
Exam questions won’t have tricks anymore — just basic knowledge.

Image learning a language with ZERO speaking or Listening and border line bad spelling with a side of fake grades for Grammar....

It's almost like they WANT to fail the best as a whole

I've been asked recently why Western groups in Vietnam are so verbally violent.

In answering this i though i'd research the Vietnamese side to find some answers and it was wild to learn Vietnam is by far one of the most corrupted negative, and disrespectful countries on the internet globally

I posted some references here and used some OVERLY common reports for westerns to see, you want more dig in there are countless studies on this


Why are Westerns so toxic in Vietnam? Because the People are 10 fold more
I've mentioned this years ago in many videos, Uncles will sell out nephews for cash.

In America (As everyone loves to compare to) looks like trash and dirty we call it a failed society, in Vietnam we see it every where we call it progressive and developing

Anyone else starting to think Vietnam invites failures thats are on their last crutch?

Google "Vietnam" and let me know how many results in the top 30 are related to girls, beer, clubs, and degen life styles
