Today Vietnam passed a new law starting Feb 9, 2026 that is GOING to regulate the CHEESE out of converting VND to USD or USD to VND.

This will restrict where, how, and the amounts. This also means LONGER lines at banks, up to 72 hour wait times for Incoming Remints from abroad and much much larger fees as now the Gov banks regulate the cost for this

Decree No. 340/2025/ND-CP

If you are Vietnamese or Retiree living in Vietnam long term this will hit you at a 5 - 15 percent increase in fees and up to 3 days Delay

Socom Bank Saigon, Vietnam is BEING DELETED

We talked about the removal of South owned Companies over the last few years and in 2024 i talked about HSBC and Socom being on a very bad radar.

Step 1 has been done with the removal of the CEO, 3 new staff inserted that traveld far to get there and now a merger with silence is going on.

Remember i used to Laugh when Expats would say
"Vietnam is safer than America because no guns"

I didn't laugh because they were wrong, or just a childish claim to compare Vietnam to a 1st world country

I laugh because they know little from their tourist condo and 1000's believe them
