My name is Jellyperson, and this channel is an independent studio where I work on projects featuring art and music. The channel's main focus is a passion project of mine called "Elemusicals," a musical web series featuring characters inspired by "My Singing Monsters" and "Incredibox." Other projects will be revealed on this channel in the future.

As we all know, YouTube will be launching an AI age verification in two days to determine if a user is under 18. If a user is flagged as under 18, then they will be restricted from watching certain videos, and creators lose access to advanced settings. To be marked as 18 or older, you will need to submit a REAL government ID, credit card, or selfie to access the advanced features. This is obviously a bad idea because it is private information, and if YouTube gets hacked, then people will be at risk.

Of course, there are possible ways of avoiding this, like watching content not marked for kids, not watching content made for kids, or going to your Google account and verifying your age, either through your email or selfie verification. Although it's not 100% sure it will work but it's better than giving them your ID. I already tried these tips and am hoping that this could work, but who knows? I'll leave links on certain ways of getting past the ID verification before it comes.

People right now are looking for some YouTube alternatives to watch videos. Here are some pros and cons for some of them:

1. Rumble

Pro: free speech, easy monetization, and has an app version

Cons: not a lot of attention for fandoms/communities, low earnings, fewer features

2. Odysee

Pros: sync with YouTube channel, some creators are featured (MeatCanyon, Solid JJ, Qwistoff YTP, etc.), tip videos like will live streams

Cons: won't get a lot of traction unless you promote it to others, requirements and limits for syncing channel (you might have to upload videos individually or wait for their self-syncing tool to come out), app version is a bit buggy

3. Dailymotion

Pros: good for businesses, has more professionally produced content, and has an app version

Cons: reduced audience, less effective monetization/algorithms, focuses on monetization through ads

I don't know what will happen on Wednesday, but just remember, we have other ways to show our work and be part of a community. We shouldn't be asked to share our personal information just to use something; we all need to stand up and show that we don't need them to be our parents. Share this around, tell everyone you know, inform your subscribers, and use Clippy to show that no one has power over us.
