Hello fellow nature lovers, I wanted to let you know that I have created a new YouTube channel where I am uploading nature shows (mostly about reptiles) that I recorded onto VHS tape decades ago. These videos are mostly unavailable anywhere else as far as I can tell. The channel is called "Lost Nature Shows" and can be found here: youtube.com/@LostNatureShows
I was shocked to just find this Eastern Garter Snake alive and well in a creek near my house when the air temperature was, at most, 21° F! I saw it come up for air twice, but it was staying under the frigid water for at least 20 minutes between air gulps. I wonder if a garter snake has ever been observed in such extreme conditions before... Video to come!
I am thankful to have had the opportunity to introduce this charming, docile, and harmless brown snake that my son found in our yard to his friends. I uploaded the video to my channel last weekend :)
