After a sudden layoff in 2026, I decided it was time to stop building other people's dreams and focus entirely on my own. I’m Omer, the developer behind Northend Games.

I’ve already put two games on Steam, but now I’m doing it solo. This channel is a raw look at my life as a full-time indie dev. Expect Unity tutorials, devlogs, and honest talks about the highs and lows of the gaming industry.

Building games isn't just about code and engine tools it's about staying disciplined when life gets unpredictable. I just posted a video reflecting on what it really takes to keep showing up during tough phases. Check out the clip on the channel, and let me know your thoughts in the poll below 👇

The new WebGL playtest build for my upcoming strategy game is officially ready! 🎮 In the latest devlog, I talk about tracking down a nightmare WebGL crash caused by a deprecated plugin, setting up camera controls, audio systems, UI fixes, and officially naming the game: Command & Defend: Dead Zone! We’re running early playtests right now, and I’d love to get your feedback to see if the core loop has potential.
Let me know in the comments if you’re planning to jump in and test it! 👇

Just uploaded a new Video!

Currently in Penang sorting out my Thailand visa so I can keep grinding on game dev full-time.

In this one:

July recap: view stats, sub growth, and staying under my 18k THB budget

Penang trip costs & relocation update

August goals: shipping the playable test build, joining a game jam, and prepping for the late August Steam sale (Deepstone Rift)

I’m also still hunting for a solid title for the game. Give it a watch and hit me with your name suggestions in the comments!

Quick update! I'm putting the final touches on the prototype polish so the early alpha build is ready for you guys to test.

The biggest thing missing right now? An actual title! 😅

I came up with a few options with help from some viewers! vote for the one you like best below. If none of these hit the spot, drop your title ideas in the comments!

Prototyping is easily the ugliest and most boring part of game dev... but it’s the only way to build a real foundation.

Question for the devs (and gamers) out there:

Poll Question:
How do you handle the "ugly greybox" phase of game development?

The rumors are true... I got laid off. 😅 But I’m turning a setback into a setup. I downsized my entire life to go full-time on the studio. The new video detailing the move, the budget, and the strategy is officially live! Check it out here: https://youtu.be/sPMnBHS_PQ8

In the meantime, help me settle a debate for the next devlog...
