I convinced an 83 year old woman to read “The Bitcoin Standard”
This week I was in Toronto for Blockchain Futurist conference.
On my walk over, I stopped at a small cafe for breakfast. There were no available tables, but a sweet old lady doing a crossword offered me a seat with her. I sat down and helped her with the crossword.
She ended up being brilliant, and super based. Multiple degrees in finance and physics, extremely successful children, originally from the UK.
She told me how a Credit Union once locked her funds and stopped her from buying a used car because “their systems were down”.
I asked her if she knows much about Bitcoin. She told me “no, it’s too risky and I don’t trust it”.
I explained to her that Bitcoin is the solution to what she experienced with the credit union. Self custody of funds, no middlemen, no banks or credit unions.
No questions asked.
She was hesitant to learn, so I wrote down “The Bitcoin Standard” on her newspaper. I told her she needed to read this book, and she promised me that she would.
One by one, the world will soon understand the power that Bitcoin creates in our lives. If you haven’t read the book yourself, I highly recommend it.
