Ok first of all hope I didn't mess up the design I didn't do much research and all that I just put together what I think looks good.

this design took so long I did too many details(I love and hate details so much)

so this is more like an AU or head cannon

I was playing Moana songs then come across shiny and I put it on repeat and I was liked damn the lore I need more so I made my own head cannon

So is it just me or Him and Maui relationship or how they talk and act near eachother they seem like Exes Then that's where the ideas came up

(Cause also how did Tamatoa know all about Maui story if they weren't close....see where I'm going with this?...or not...?)

So I head cannon they used to be lovers or something then they had a bad falling out and tamatoa had his arm/leg cut by Maui hook in the process.

And since it's cut he can't retract it like the rest of his arms.so like Ford from gravity falls I decided he would position himself when talking to others in a way that hides his chopped off arm cause it's ugly to him and doesn't fit his vibe
His design was made by me and my sis

His hair used to be long but after the falling out he cut it (my sister pointed out that that's what emperors do at war and their hair represents their patience so) I want it to kinda be more like long hair is like representative of beauty then it hurt for Maui to see his short hair cause Tamatoa did it cause he is hurt and all that(Plus it's like he always wanted to look shiny a pretty and cutting his hair is like.....damn)

So that back of his hair is technically his horde of treasure cause his taller and bigger that humans the treasure he has he turns it to hair accessories to be like a sort of fake but shiny long hair in the back with Maui's hook being the center piece at the back like a clip(is this understandable?)

His cloth that covers his middle part on his lower area is like a reflective fabric.(Cause shiny)
He has a lot of gold and black body markings that's also bioluminescent

So his eyes have like multiple pupils (is that the word for it?) basically like a fly vision if that make sense

The necklace he has is from Maui
And yes he has gills
Claws and sharp teeth too
A golden tooth

I have so much more details my goodness....this might just be my new obsession
