Ross Rowland was an absolute legend in every sense of the word. This wonderful man is responsible for my obsession with the 614. If it weren't for those excursion trips in 1996-1998 from Hoboken, NJ to Port Jervis, NY with the 614, my love for trains might not be as significant. He knew how interesting steam locomotives are, and he wanted to preserve that excitement for generations to come. I can confidently say that he changed my life for the better, as I'm sure he did for the millions of people whose lives he touched by sharing his passion for steam. My Dad and I were fortunate enough to share a conversation with him, and that is a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you for inspiring myself and millions of other people.

Sorry there was no video or live stream this week. The basement has been under construction for some plumbing repairs. I am happy to report that the problem has been solved, and The Trainboard is safe and sound. We are working on getting everything back in order so that we can resume filming. I'm making this post to fill everybody in on what's been going on with us. I don't like to report bad news, but I figured it's better to let you all know than keep everyone in the dark.

That live stream we did was the first time we'd been down to the basement since we filmed our segment for Lark's Christmas video.

Unfortunately, we both got sick before Christmas, and it lasted through New Years. To make things worse, I (Ryan) dislocated my knee just before Christmas as well.

Standing is extremely uncomfortable for me at the moment, and as a result, I won't be going down to the basement anytime soon. I've decided to stay off my knee for at least the first two weeks of January, possibly the whole month, to give my knee time to heal.

I'm really bummed that I can't work on the layout or run trains. Fortunately, I have no problem sitting, so I will be spending most of my time getting caught up on editing real train videos so you all have something to watch. Once I have recovered, there will be TONS of model train content, promise.
