stickfigurism is NOT a cult idk where yall r getting ts from🍂
the REAL definition since ppl r stupid ash🔥🛋️😶,,

Stickfigurism (practiced since 2021, named: 21/10/2025) - an art movement and ideology which views pure stick figure design as a valid, expressive, and complete form of character art, not a placeholder, shortcut, or joke.

Stickfigurism challenges modern art norms by proving that emotion, storytelling, and identity can be portrayed without realistic anatomy or humanoid features.

It's a belief system actively used in the SFC/SFAM communities and spaces, where SFAM stands for "Stick Figure Animation Meme" - the most popular media related to this worldview and SFC stands for "Stick Figure Community" - the one focusing strictly on this type of character design.

Stickfigurism has a set of its own rules. These rules aren't meant as a limitation - they're here to protect the movement's identity and preserve the ideology's deepest origins. The origin of stickfigurism goes deeply into the SFC/SFAM community, which was the first internet community to ever attempt taking pure stick figure art forms as a 100% serious character design choice, without any humanization compared to the rest of stickman internet communities.

Pure stick anatomy - the character's body has to be made strictly from perfectly straight sticks in order to be considered a stickfigurist artwork. Even if the artwork follows all other rules of stickfigurist character design, but has a humanoidified body even to the minimal - it's immediately not a part of our ideology. Our main goal is to normalize pure stick figures as a valid art form, and in the long run - inspire to start an overall process of normalizing other non-humanoid character designs in general. Stickfigurist characters are also characterized by having endings on their arms and legs which represent hands and feet and a perfectly round head. These shall not be forgotten about.

Specific color palette - a fully black body, together with the hands and feet, and a fully white head with either black outline or no outline depending on the artist's preference.

Facial expression - The face should always reflect emotions on the stick figure. It's made of eyes of any color, black mouth outline and no human nose or ears. The insides of the mouth (color inside of open mouth) can be any color depending on the artist's preference, specific character design or art style.

Any hairstyles/accessories - Hairstyles and accessories are open to be literally anything the artist imagines. Go wild with your ideas and characterize your stick figure anyway you like in this section!

Clothes (optional) - you can add clothes to your character however they have to perfectly fit on the stick body and you cannot humanoidify the character in the process.

In stickfigurism, the rules are supposed to be a blank canvas - for a neutral character that everyone can see themselves inside of. Stickfigurist characters don't have a skin tone or a race - it's because we're creating a world where race doesn't matter - the character's identity depends on emotion, backstory (if has one), interests, goals and gesture. We belive that identity doesn't have to be tied to physical characteristics like skin color for example, and that it's more about how someone feels than how they look.

The earliest traces of stickfigurism can be found back to 2021, when the SFAM community just started to exist. Unlike other communities in the stickman umbrella, the Stick Figure Animation Meme community focused on pure stick design and rejected humanization as a concept. In result of this, many members of the SFAM community developed stickfigurist tendencies overtime - characterized with the need/want to normalize expression through pure stick figure artistry. Over time of existence of this community, more and more SFAM community members entirely rejected the idea of drawing humanoids themselves and focused strictly on pure-stick art. As the community grew, this belief system - though unnamed - became stronger inside of these circles. As criticism against pure stick figure art reached to the community, more and more members mentioned wanting to actively fight it. And finally, on 21st october of 2025 the term "stickfigurism" has been officially coined by ZaphiraXC, TinaTamchim and Camila_Employee as the official art movement for SFC/SFAM circles.
