It's not often I share someone else's videos but @alexb_aquatics new aquarium is cool! Really simple and properly wild looking. I've linked the video if you want to go take a look.
Otocinclus are one of the ultimate cleanup crew, but they can be notoriously sensitive. I want to test a theory: Does keeping them in larger groups actually make them easier to keep?
Drop two numbers in the comments: Group Size: How many do you keep together?
Success Score: On a scale of 1–10 (1 = struggling, 10 = thriving/fat), how has your experience been?
Why the data? We know Otos are social, but does a group of 3 vs. 8 make the difference between survival and success? Let’s see what the "group math" says in the comments!
Need to boost your score? If your success score isn't where you want it to be, I’ve got you covered. I released a deep-dive video covering keeping Otocinclus healthy and happy long term.
Have you seen my newest video? Do you like a minimal clear water design or more of a natural blackwater style? . It's the first time I've created a minimalist clearwater aquascape for the channel! And do you know what? I love it! Of course it had to have Anubias in it; one of my favourite plants.
New pond video dropping soon! . Katie has FINALLY let me build the pond of my dreams. Getting the local permits for a saltwater Great White enclosure was an absolute nightmare, but it was so worth it. Video dropping on the channel at 11:59 April 1st! 🦈🐳 . Obviously this is ridiculous but I bet this thumbnail would get me some clicks over on the channel.
New video out today on our channel! Not on stingrays though so sorry to disappoint. But it is very interesting about a fish that lives with a parasite. . Anyway I was meant to be at South Wales fish auction today. But with a 3 week old baby and collectively me and Katie having 3 hours sleep. I didn't feel it was fair on her or healthy for me to try and make the trip. Hopefully next time I can get there! . Instead of being a bit down about not attending I've been scrolling old fish photos on my phone between nappy changes and trying to catch up on sleep. I miss our old Stingrays in the shop! It's 100% something I want to revisit in the future. But I will be wanting an indoor pond!
We've been a tad bit quieter across our channels for the last week or so and for good reason! . We have finally been graced by our new baby boy Orson, Quinn has been an awesome big brother and Roma has been very chill with the new arrival. . We have lots of content lined up we may just go quiet for periods whilst me and Katie get used to an extra human around the house. . Much love to you all!!!
Today is International Women’s Day, and I wanted to take a moment to appreciate the women who make our community so vibrant. From the science of water chemistry to the artistry of a planted tank, I love that our hobby is so diverse. I feel incredibly lucky that so many women choose to spend their time watching our videos. You bring a unique perspective, creativity, and passion to the comments section every single day. And obviously a special thanks goes to my rock, Katie who helps and supports the channel, me and our family every single day. Let’s grow the circle. Who is a female creator (large or small!) that more people need to know about? Drop a link or tag them below: we’re looking for some new inspiration for our own subscription feed!
Cleanup crew turned plant destroyers. . We've just built a whole tank for these Colombian Ramshorn snails. Watch the full story on our YT channel and tell me if you'd keep them. . New snail video https://youtu.be/SvhTO3RwSFk . #aquascaping#aquarium#aquascape
