Liquid tests or dip tests, which do you use and trust? . We released a video last week because a phone call from a mate with sick fish led me down a massive water testing rabbit hole. . He swore his water parameters were "fine" but he was using dip strips. Honestly? Eight or nine times out of ten, those strips aren't accurate enough to help you. . Leaving the lives of our fish to one side for a second, even on a pure wallet basis, saving just one group of Neon Tetras pays back the cost of a proper liquid kit. It just makes sense. . Shoutout to @NTLabsOfficialSite for doing a great thing! They redesigned their test kits, and they managed to cut out a ton of plastic and packaging waste.
As someone who tests water a lot, these changes make a huge difference. Faster testing, less clutter, less waste. Love it!
The Ammonia test is easier now. They cut it down from 3 reagents to just 2. Fewer bottles, faster results. Huge win.
No more separate sticker sheets! (Am I the only one who always lost these?) The test tube labels are now built right onto the reagent bottles you just peel and stick them straight onto the tubes.
They shrunk the tubes. They went from 10ml to 5ml, which cuts down on plastic but still gives you the exact same accuracy.
Ditched the plastic wrap. The new boxes are fully enclosed, meaning no unnecessary shrink-wrap or outer sleeves.
They basically trimmed all the bulk, the new Aquarium, Pond, and Marine kits have up to 48% less cardboard and up to 26% less plastic weight.
Honestly, I love seeing brands I work with actually listen to feedback and make changes that are better for us and the planet.
We have a whole new video coming out on testing very soon!
Have you guys spotted the new boxes yet? Let me know what you think!
We do love our little No dig nature pond, It has brought so much life to that part of the garden and all at a height that our boy can enjoy it and watch everything up close.
We will be filming a few little updates on this over the next few months so watch this space and also check out our YT for the original build video and updates on the pond.
I can tell all of you are all starting to think about your gardens and ponds. The comments on older videos have been flying in over the last few weeks.
This fish pond has been one of the most popular recently, I guess with the plants, fish, filtration, lighting and everything else that happened in this project there is a lot to talk about.
You can find the full video over on our YT or if you already have a pond we have just made a video all about pond plants that will help you design your planting.
Working on the thumbnail for a video about pond plants and I'm struggling, so I may just go with this hahaha. By the way this is not ai this is pure editing skills on canva.
Thank you all for sharing your personal experiences, tips and tricks on last weekends video release about aggressive fish!
Having a community that helps and talks is so useful in the aquarium world. It really can make the difference between someone leaving or staying in our hobby!
If you missed it here is the angry fish in question that now happily resides in our 600L community aquarium.
A lot of you eagle eyed viewers have spotted this dude swimming around in the big community tank recently.
The short story is he's with us because of an issue that a lot of us have suffered and that is aggressive fish. But I don't think they are aggressive they are just misunderstood or in the wrong setup.
We will chat about his story this weekend and why he is now living with us. Watch out on our channel for the video release.
Have you said no to a new fish recently and regretted it? . It was very hard to walk away without buying a group of these Slate plecos @MaidenheadAquatics@ Taunton Maybe I'll go back and see if there are any left.
A new update video has been released on our Andrao Snakehead. . A few problems have hit the aquarium with white mould and poor plant growth. Go watch the video to see what happened and how we fixed it. . https://youtu.be/UXWleGVtpFo

I really can't decide which of the plants in the Vampire crab Paludarium are my favourite.
I sort of narrowed it down to the ones in the pictures but I'm sure as they all grow my mind will change.
As loads of you keep asking check out @aquafleurinternational8171 new Terra plants range for all the ones I used in the video.
