✨ Teens & preteens don’t just want rules—they want respect, trust, and support! ✨

As parents, it’s easy to focus on guiding and protecting them, but what they truly need is:

1️⃣ Trust – Believe in their choices.
2️⃣ Active Listening – Let them express without fear of judgment.
3️⃣ Independence – Give them space to grow.
4️⃣ Emotional Support – Be their safe space.
5️⃣ Respect – Value their opinions.
6️⃣ Quality Time – Bond without pressure.

💬 Which one do you think matters the most? Drop a ❤️ if you agree & tag a parent who needs this reminder! 👇

A Chilly Morning in Cooch Behar: A Tale of Patriotism and Joy 🇮🇳

The year was 2000-2001, and life was simple yet filled with excitement 🌟. I was in class 7 or 8, eagerly waiting for January 26th—a day that meant more than just a holiday 🗓️. In our small town of Cooch Behar, Republic Day 🇮🇳 was a grand celebration of unity, patriotism, and pride. The entire town came alive with parades, dances, and cultural programs organized by the district administration and schools 🥁💃.

Our school always took pride in participating 🏫, and I was no exception. Be it the parade 🥇 or singing 🎤, I joined in with all my energy. Preparations began a month in advance, with dance rehearsals on school grounds and parade practices at the police training ground 🚓. The police officers, who trained us with discipline and precision, were like mentors, guiding us to perfect every move 👮‍♂️✨. Their unwavering dedication inspired us all.

I still remember that particular year vividly. The chilly morning 🌬️❄️, the biting cold making us shiver 🥶, yet we stood tall with excitement and determination 💪. Sweaters were a no-no during the parade, and we braved the weather in our uniforms. Ahead of us stood rows of police officers, armed with rifles, ready for the ceremonial shots after the flag hoisting 🎖️. Their energy was infectious, and their words of encouragement kept us motivated 🔥.

As the national flag soared high and the anthem played 🎶🇮🇳, a wave of pride swept over us. The parade began, and we marched in perfect synchronization, each step echoing the spirit of unity 🥁👣. Later, during the cultural programs, our school’s dance performance enthralled the audience 🩰. The moment they announced we had secured first place in both the parade and dance, our joy knew no bounds 🎉🎊. It was a memory I cherish to this day 💖.

Looking back, I see how different I was then. A curious, vibrant, and eager student, I participated in everything 🎶🎨🎤. From organizing Saraswati Puja 🪔 to farewell functions and Teacher's Day celebrations 📅, we students took charge of every event. Back then, our teachers encouraged us to explore beyond academics 📝📚, giving us the freedom to grow 🌱. They never told us to “just study”; they knew extracurricular activities were equally important for shaping us into well-rounded individuals 🌟.

Fast forward to today, and I can't help but feel things have changed 💭. Republic Day celebrations, once filled with excitement and community participation, now feel confined to schools 🏫. For many adults, it’s just another holiday to relax or post a quick “Happy Republic Day” message online 💻📱. The feelings of patriotism, unity, and dedication seem to have dimmed over the years 💔.

As I write this, I wonder: Are we losing that spirit? Are we teaching the next generation the values of unity and love for the country 🌍💙? Or are we letting these celebrations fade into mere childhood memories? 🕰️

Call to Action:

This Republic Day, let’s bring back that spirit of togetherness and pride 🇮🇳. Celebrate meaningfully—participate in events, share stories with children, or simply take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices that shaped our nation 🙏. Let’s ensure the values we cherished as kids don’t fade with time. Share your memories or thoughts below 📝💬. Together, let’s keep the flame of patriotism alive for generations to come 🔥🇮🇳!
