Gold 4H Chart: Looking bullish!

I'm watching for pullbacks here, after a round of soft jobs numbers and in-line inflation.

Tomorrow's PPI print could also bring some volatility, so I'm watching patiently!

I like the 50% & 61.8% retracement levels as possible dip-buying opportunities.

Gold daily chart: the breakout is finally here... will it stick? Read more!

Technicals: Gold is breaking out of its daily chart range its been in the last few months, gaining over 4% today (at the time of writing). While it looks a bit overextended short term, any pullbacks look attractive in my view.

Fundamentals/macro: cooler inflation, soft jobs data, 10 year yield cooling a bit, and geopolitics showing some potential for de-escalation? Sweet spot! See second slide for EdgeFinder bias (Hint: its been bullish for several days!)

My trading results YTD:

The last few months have been a sideways grind, but I’m reasonably happy with these results.

The majority of my gains this year have been from my commodity trades, notably the gold longs I had in January, and oil longs / gold shorts I had throughout February - June.

I also sell options on stocks I like and have some long term holds (which has actually been the weakest performing part of the portfolio this year)

I have a relatively low win rate, but use a trailing stop approach that allows me to periodically catch outsized runners.
