This week many of us go quiet; see planes crashing, towers falling, hear “let’s roll…” in a collage of memories. Many of us sink into the dust bursting shock of September 11th, 2001, a day that changed us.
Same, same but different from the way a Tibetan bedrock failure & hanging glacier collapse changed us on the morning of August 26th, 2026. That event caused a 300’ wall of slurry to barrel down a narrow river valley into Nepal.
In a flash thousands of souls perished."

"Brutish behavior has replaced civility in too many places. Meanwhile, cool La Niña hands over the baton to The Heat, El Niño, a force liable to arouse concurrent atmospheric rivers, droughts, deluges & record high temps.
At once a glacier avalanches in the Himalayas just after philanthropist & artist, Dolly Parton as well as actor, Tim Curry1 shuffled off this mortal coil & as Mercury entered Virgo & Vesta retrograded.
Such events stop us in our tracks even as empires fall before our eyes. Fires surge, diseases spread. Still, the bullies & the bought-off lie, cheat, conspire & steal, as eclipse season fades into the mystic."

Soon & now a total solar eclipse begins over Northern Siberia Russia above the Khatanga Gulf near Bolshoy Begichev Island & the Laptev Sea coast. All initiates at about 1:00pm EDT/ 17:00 GMT/UTC. This eclipse resolves at sunset above Spain’s Balearic Islands. Poetry in motion.

On August 11, 1999 a total solar eclipse occurred. ‘t was the last of the millennium & broadcast on TV by the Russian Mir space station. The path of totality crossed above lots of land, beginning over the Atlantic then eastwardly over the U.K. (Cornwall,) Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, ending at sunset over The Bay of Bengal.1 That same day a tornado swirled through Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.
