According to a new report, 59% of girls in India cite financial constraints as their primary reason for not pursuing STEM education beyond secondary school.
The crisis cascades:
- Only 39% of girls graduate in science from higher secondary, yet 80% of future jobs require STEM skills
- Women are 43% of STEM graduates in India but just 27% of the STEM workforce
- Globally: 22% of AI professionals, 28% of engineering graduates are women
