A State-Level Workshop for the North Goa Model District Initiative under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) was held on 1st July 2026 at Novotel Goa Panjim. The workshop was organised in collaboration with the National Health Authority (NHA), the Directorate of Health Services, Goa, and the Government of Goa.
Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority (NHA), stated that the Model District Initiative aims to expand digital healthcare services, enhance transparency and efficiency in healthcare delivery, and make quality health services more accessible to citizens. He further highlighted that the next phase of digital health is not about building technology, but about ensuring its widespread adoption. He emphasized the importance of accelerating the use of ABDM-enabled digital health solutions across public and private healthcare institutions to create an integrated, interoperable, and patient-centric healthcare ecosystem. He also said private hospitals should adopt Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS) compliant with ABDM standards to enable the secure sharing of patients’ health information.
