Your love lingers like morning mist, hugging the trees at dawn, neither rushing nor retreating, simply staying, so close I can almost breathe it in. I ask myself, why would I ever wish to be anywhere else, when your love is the air I live in?


Afterlove
I loved you, even when my tears had dried,
When spring had gone and left a barren sky.
I sang your name when silence filled my veins,
With no soul in sight, in grey, lonesome rains.

I loved you, even when my heart was bare,
When hope had fled, and left only despair.
The years, like waves, eroded every trace of you,
No memory, no light, just a darkness to pursue.


Knotted

What we built wasn't tangled. It was knotted. Woven in silence. Tight like truth. Warm like shelter. Fragile like us.
So she left. And I, I gathered myself from where I had once belonged.
Not broken. Just gently loosed.

Here's something most history syllabuses skip entirely: The Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia — built in the 12th century CE — contains one of the most detailed stone renderings of the Churning of the Ocean of Milk (Samudra Manthan) anywhere in the world. The Khmer rulers who commissioned it had likely never visited India. Yet the iconography aligns almost exactly with descriptions in the Bhagavata and Vishnu Puranas. This is what civilisational transmission looks like when it works: the story travels farther than the people who first told it, takes root in soil the original tellers never touched, and gets carved in stone by hands that learned it as their own inheritance. The Sulbasutras weren't just geometry manuals. The word "sulba" itself means cord or rope , and in ancient India, the rope was the primary measuring instrument. Entire altars were laid out using only pegs, cords, and human measurement.

What's extraordinary is that this same rope-based measurement tradition appears independently in ancient Egypt, where priests used knotted ropes divided into segments of 3, 4, and 5 to create right angles for temple construction.

Here is a wall that should be in every school in the world. Fourteen figures. Fourteen fields. One civilisation. India did not borrow its knowledge from the ancient world. In most cases, India was the ancient world's source.

* Charaka built the foundations of medicine.
* Sushruta pioneered surgical technique.
* Baudhyana worked out geometry centuries before Pythagoras formalised it in Greece.
* Aryabhata calculated the approximate value of pi, theorised Earth's rotation, and mapped the cosmos, all before the sixth century CE.
* Nagarjuna mastered chemistry and metallurgy at a time when Europe had no framework for either discipline. Canakya wrote Arthashastra, a treatise on statecraft and economics so sharp and precise that modern political scientists still reference it.
* Visvakarma formalised the principles of architecture and civil engineering through Vastu Shastra.
* J.C. Bose, bridging the ancient and modern eras, gave the world plant physiology and radio wave detection. And was largely uncredited for it.




India did not just participate in the history of human knowledge. India authored enormous chapters of it.

desiring not to be seen, but to see.
A river, not chasing a distant ocean
but simply enjoying the journey.
