Michael is a detransitioner from Glasgow who shares his deeply personal and painful journey through trauma, gender transition, and detransition.

In this interview, Michael describes growing up as a young gay boy who felt different, experiencing serious trauma in adulthood, and how that trauma led him to create a new identity as a transgender woman. Transition became a way to survive, not to heal.

On Saturday in St Peter’s Square, Manchester, in sight of the Emmeline Pankhurst statue, I unexpectedly encountered a protest organised by Girl Guide leaders and supporters - Mothers and MEN pretending to be women.

The protest was largely peaceful and orderly, though tensions rose at times. Most concerning for me was the behaviour of a police inspector, who approached and accused me of being antagonistic. The footage shows a very different story - that he was the antagonist.

This was one of the most bizarre and saddening protests I’ve witnessed, not because of disorder, but because of what it revealed about how far the ideology has infected the brains of these women.

This is independent, on-the-ground reporting from Manchester.
