Well, it turns out I make mistakes, too. Parc Spirou just made a clarification that the promotional image is in fact real - it's a piece drawn by comic artist and illustrator Hiroyuki Ooshima @hiro_di_puttana_the_tribe (18+) on Instagram.

My original post was directed explicitly towards Dupuis and Journal Spirou for making a clear statement that they will not use AI, only to post several promotional images of questionable authenticity. I reached out directly to Journal Spirou with those images for comment, and, as of the making of this post, I've received no response. Now that there's a name attached to this piece, my original post can be misinterpreted as an accusation of them using AI - it's not, never was, and never will be. That's why that post will be deleted, regardless of the damage it will do to my account's metrics.

I would like to apologize for this mistake and I encourage those of you old enough to follow @hiro_di_puttana_the_tribe on Instagram and show them support. It sucks that AI has done such irreparable damage to the art world that this is even a debate we have.

There is still fault on the end of the people handling the brand management of the Publishers and their connected venues. There should have been at least some credit, ANY mention of the artist unless they specifically choose to not be credited or mentioned. That, in addition to the precedent set by the general industry and the other, far more questionable images posted, boiled over into this unfortunate case of collateral damage.

Alright, I'm pretty sure that covers everything. Once again, sorry for potentially misleading folks - I'm just a small creator who deeply cares about the medium and hates to see the abuses and neglect present. Much love!

Hey folks! I finished recording the voiceover for the video about Disney's Marsupilami! It's an insane project for me to tackle under my current circumstances. I'm in the middle of moving as we speak, with a mountain of paperwork that needed to be done, no less. But it's happening, and I'm really happy about it!

This video will have a very different format from what you'd expect. I want to tell a story first and give my opinion second with this one. You'll see when I'm done with it, hope you like it!

I'm in the middle of watching Disney's 1993 Marsupilami as research for the next video. There aren't enough words in the English OR French to describe how awful this is. There's no redeeming qualities here, not a single positive thing I can point to. I feel genuine second hand embarrassment watching it, what a mess.

I would like to issue an official and heartfelt apology to Marathon and Samka for saying anything remotely negative about Marsupilami (2000) and Houba Houba Hop (2009). Compared to what Disney put out, those two shows are the Mona Lisa of animation.

Disney deserved every single punishment they got from the lawsuit involving Marsu. And the lawsuit is honestly way more interesting than the show itself. That's the kind of quality we're talking about here.

Heeey, so about that video I said I've been working on this whole time. Surprise! It's actually real! The video is about the 2000s Marsupilami show that I very briefly glanced over in my very first video.

Right now I've finished my most ambitious section/edit yet, which marks the over halfway point of my video (~30 minutes total). You can see on the timeline that it looks BONKERS.

Expect crisp audio, pretty in-depth commentary, tight editing and a lot of Houbs!

Thanks a ton for being patient with me, I'm really hoping it'll have been worth the wait when it comes out.
