Hi! I'm here to show you how to cook Chinese food. Whether you are a beginner or advanced cook I will share my recipes and cooking techniques with you. My goal is to show you how to make all these amazing dishes in easy, step by step guides. No complicated techniques, expensive equipment or ridiculously hard to get ingredients. Just easy to follow tutorials and mouth watering food! Everything you need to go on your own culinary journey to the Far East.

I have 2 passions, photography and food - particularly Chinese & Asian food. I'm a professional photographer by trade but both my parents were chefs so food has always been a huge part of my life. I worked for years in my Mum's Chinese takeaway so I have lots of recipes and secrets to share with you.

Enjoy!
Michael

Ok today’s video is not doing well 😭
Is it because: The thumbnail is bad? Title/Subject is bad? You don’t like salmon? I didn’t see this come up on YouTube?
Something else?
Any feedback would be much appreciated 🫶

Different blossom tree this morning. Brownie points if you can ID the tree.

So yesterday’s post got me thinking. Most of us like keeping the status quo. But change is inevitable, sometimes uncomfortable, and often necessary.

I don’t have too much to complain about. However often during my life, I’ve asked myself, ‘how did I get here?’
It’s easy to punish ourselves with hindsight.
The butterfly effect. You’ve seen the film, right? You go back in time to change an event, an action, a detail to alter something in the present for the better. But it creates ripples of unintended consequences. Your new present is not anything like the one you knew.

Anyway, my version is that I look back at decisions that I made when I was younger. If I made the ‘right’ choices, I would have taken another route, would have been richer, would have had more things. I followed my heart, not my head. It would appear that this was the harder journey.

But on flogging myself for these decisions for the fiftieth time, I came to a realisation. Interrogating myself about why I hadn’t become a multi-millionaire to give my family a better life, it dawned on me that had I made all the ‘right’ decisions during my life, I would never have met my wife as our paths would never have crossed. And Kobi wouldn’t exist.
That kind of stopped me in my tracks. Hypothetically, what kind of lifestyle would I swap for the one I have now, knowing that Yvonne and Kobi would not be there?
Being that they are non-negotiable, the answer is that I would not.

We are where we’re meant to be. If that doesn’t make you happy, take steps to change that.

Baz Luhrman: ‘Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance; so are everybody else's.’

An extract from Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen). I recommend you listen to the whole piece.

Have a beautiful day ❤️

Riddle me this.

Seagull is to science what Bao bun is to Chinese.

There’s been many changes in my life recently. Change is sometimes scary but often necessary, and if you embrace it - a good thing.
I’ve taken the opportunity to change a few but important things in my life. One of them is a healthier lifestyle. My daily routine now starts with a brisk, 2 mile power walk. This is not only good for my general fitness, but a way of starting my day with a refreshed, peaceful mind.
Here I’m cooling down under my favourite cherry blossom tree.

Have a lovely day my friends ❤️
