New music video for Sharpie Smile and their latest single and title track, "The Staircase" from their upcoming album!

Like a sweet spring breeze after a long, cruel winter, Cory Hanson’s blowing through town again. And like the wind, I Love People — our lone wanderer’s fourth album, out July 25 — comes from parts unknown. The first single, “Bird on a Swing,” arrives today with a music video.
The simmering shades of his past solo works — Pale Horse Rider’s quiet horror and the burst of Western Cum’s cartoonish, gun-slinger bravado — give way to an ever-more impartial view of life on the ground, tinted in gossamer sepia and other nostalgic tones. Here, Cory’s songs ensnare the 70s singer-songwriter in a feedback loop, drawing additional inspiration from the indelible everyman melodies of the American Songbook.
Sharpie Smile’s debut album has one question for you: is your heart good enough to take The Staircase?
Sharpie Smile is Dylan Hadley and Cole Berliner. They met in 2015, a pair of musically-adept nonconformist teenagers that started writing music together for a project called Kamikaze Palm Tree. With Dylan on drums and Cole on guitar, they produced two albums of thorny, ear-wormy art rock, touring the country and fitting in session work for Cate Le Bon, A. Savage, and Tim Presley’s White Fence. Then, a shimmering new direction came into view…
The Staircase is a lush and energizing contemporary pop record built on heart-swelling minimal/maximal electronic production and deep feels.
Abrupt and minimal, their lead single "The Slide" goes hard. Watch the music video directed by Isabella Behravan and take The Staircase - out 6/27! Pre-order here: sharpiesmile.lnk.to/thestaircase
Jay Marie, Comfort Me is a bold third missive from the Australian duo of Helen Franzmann and Mick Turner as Mess Esque — and now that the record's out, we can all share in its dream-like quality! The band's touring in Europe this May with Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and have a new music video for "Crow's Ash Tree" to share ahead of their departure.
The music video was directed by Denny Ryan; Helen's niece, Sofia Carroll, made the playful masks that the band adorns in their unfettered group dance. Jay Marie, Comfort Me is out now!
Eiko Ishibashi's album, Antigone, is right around the corner of tomorrow - and we can't wait! Eiko prepares to unveil Antigone with a new music video for "Mona Lisa" directed by Hitoshi Omika (who Eiko worked with on Evil Does Not Exist). The music video stars the lovely 90-year-old Mutsuko-san, who is performing karaoke to "Mona Lisa" at Eiko's neighborhood community center. Watch the video now and listen to Antigone, out tomorrow 3/28!
The call of Faun Fables reaches our ears once more, as Dawn McCarthy and Nils Frykdahl have returned with a new album, Counterclockwise, out May 30.
Known for their timeless songcraft and storytelling, Counterclockwise is a continued exploration of tradition and the domestic, elevated by a mystical and fantastical perspective; a living atmosphere of home and family, enchanted by the nature of time and the experience spent growing together. The creative relationship with time is key to Counterclockwise - in the Faun family, the passage of time is an affirmative process evolving through old and new generations.
Lead single "Ember Bell" is out now, with a music video by Lara Miranda. Watch it now!
Make way for Possession, Ty Segall's latest album, out on 5/30! Ty is on the hunt for new horizons, hitting the trail beneath the big skies of our frontier empire to take us on a high-octane narrative journey. A literary set of lyrics co-written by his longtime collaborator, filmmaker Matt Yoka, paint an abiding view of quintessentially American stories.
The lead single, "Fantastic Tomb," is an epic song-story and modern American noir-cum-classic rock jam. Give it a listen and pre-order Possession now!
Nearly a decade after their first missive from space time, Automaginary, Natural Information Society and Bitchin Bajas report back from beyond with a new album, their latest transmission, Totality! Music video for first single "Clock no Clock" from longtime Bajas collaborator Nick Ciontea drops today along with the announcement, watch it now and pre-order Totality today! lnk.to/totality
