The difference between a talent and a skill is that a talent is believed to be a skill someone is just born with…they don’t have to work or do much of anything to maintain it.

While a skill is learned. A skill is practiced, over and over. A skill takes effort and time to get right, or get good.

You wouldn’t tell a basketball player “wow you’re so talented at shooting hoops” or say to a gamer “wow you’re so talented in that game”

You know why? Because people know that neither of those are a talent, but instead are skills.

So why is it so common for people to call artists “talented”?

Of course I understand that most people mean it as a compliment, but when you think about it, it isn’t one.

Calling an artist talented undermines all the time they’ve spent to get to where they’re at with their art today. As if that SKILL was just something they were born with and takes no effort. But that’s completely untrue and I think people need to seriously understand that.

Guys I’m so obsessed with KATSEYE rn it’s not even funny

I literally knocked over my freezing cold water glass last night while trying to figure out the helicopter hands in “Gabriella”

Btw this obsession started literally last night and they’re all I can think about I love them ALL 😭❤️

Guys I got home at like 4 or something today and ended up falling asleep randomly at 5 and woke up at 7 to discover my very concerned mom and step dad before just going back to sleep again and now it’s 10 and I don’t wanna sleep anymore 😃

Randomly remembering how for the first few years after my parents divorce whenever I would make friends for the day at a park or something I would literally explain to said children what divorce was and leave them like “…oh…! 😃”
