So, first of all, if this wasn't already clear, my current recording plan is to finish Higurashi chapters 7 and 8, then play the first arc of Higurashi Rei, then play Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.

Which leads me into an important question for the people who have played Fate/Hollow Ataraxia at some point: How good does my current knowledge of Fate/Stay Night need to be to play Fate/HA? It's been a while since I played, and wanted to know if I should be good with just mostly general knowledge of the plot/characterization + a few summaries for a refresh, or if I should rewatch the whole F/SN LP over the next month or two while I finish Higurashi up to ensure my memory of the game is as up to date as possible. I figured I'd ask relatively early to leave plenty of time to rewatch the LP in case people think it would make more sense to do so.

Hello everyone!



It’s been a while since I recorded, but I was finally deciding to record Higurashi again today, with the intent of playing until I finish. I wasn't going to announce this, I was just going to upload. However, today I woke up and saw that Fate/Hollow Ataraxia has been announced to be coming out next week, and I also REALLY want to play that game. So I want to quickly poll you guys and see if you’d rather I alternate between Higu/Fate (starting with Higu so I can finish the current chapter) or just play Higu all the way through and then move onto Fate.

Right now there is no ”just play Fate” option, because I’m literally playing Higurashi today and am like 99% sure I could beat chapter 6 before the Fate release date. Also as I'm sure you guys have realized this poll is not legally binding, since for the most part I'll play what I want to play and play it when I want to play it (or this channel wouldn't have such egregiously long breaks out of nowhere), but I still want a general idea of what you guys are thinking.

Hey everyone, just wanted to quickly provide an update saying that after the recent poll (which was pretty close) I have decided to go forward with a Last Defense Academy lets play, and the first episode will be uploaded in 25 minutes! If you're interested obviously feel free to check it out, so far the setup is pretty intriguing in my opinion.

If you're not interested though definitely don't feel pressured to watch! While I would obviously love to get some community interaction for LDA I don't really mind too much if it lowkey flops, I'm mainly uploading it because I'm going to be playing it anyways and thought it would be cool to be able to go back and see my reactions to a game like this.

For those of you who aren't interested in LDA but are interested in Higurashi just be aware that Higurashi is still coming on either Monday or Tuesday and will probably continue to be uploaded roughly two to maybe three times a week (two is more likely IMO, but you never know with me really lol), so you can still look forward to that even if you're not interested in LDA! I'm not sure how much uploading another series that may not perform as well/may not be viewed by certain people will effect notifications for the Higurashi series, so I just figured I'd put out a reminder that it's still coming just in case.

Hello! First things first, new Higurashi video tomorrow, and another one in the coming days.

Anyways, as some of you may know, a game called "The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-" releases in approximately 20 minutes on Steam, and I plan on playing this game in the days after it launches. Given that I'll be playing the game anyways, I was curious if my audience would be interested in watching me play the game via either recorded videos or a livestream. For those who don't know, the game is a visual novel/SRPG hybrid that is directed by the creator of Danganronpa as well as the creator of Zero Escape/AI the Somnium Files, and will combine the things these games are iconic for (such as the eccentric characters from Danganronpa, the many routes of Zero Escape, and the mystery writing of both) while also adding in turn based strategy combat.

To be clear, making content for Last Defense Academy will not effect the rate that I play Higurashi going forward, partially because I just want to keep playing Higurashi now that my break is done (for anyone curious the break was me just needing a week off, then getting sick for another week or so, then after that I was playing Persona 3 and really wanted to finish it as fast as I could), but also because I'm playing Last Defense Academy either way, so it's not like recording/streaming Last Defense Academy would take away any extra time from Higurashi compared to me just playing the game off camera. This is also why I led this post by mentioning a new Higurashi video first, to be clear that there will still be Higurashi content either way.

So yeah, quick little poll to see if you guys are interested in content for the game, as well as in what form. If you guys aren't interested then no worries! Like I said I'm playing either way, so if you guys aren't interested I'll just play off camera. Also, to be clear, a certain option winning this poll doesn't guarantee I'll actually do that, I'm just kind of gauging public opinion here and will make a choice based off of that.

Hey everyone, quick update on the Higurashi series. First of all, this is NOT the start of a 6-month break or something, so no need to worry about that. I just wanted to take a few days to do other things, then when I was finally good to play again I got sick, with the primary symptom being a sore throat. I COULD record if I really wanted to, but I can’t say I’m interested in doing a lot of talking for around 2 hours while I have a sore throat/headaches, so I’ll be waiting on that to go away before recording more of chapter 6. I just figured I’d provide this update so everyone would know that this isn’t about to be some huge break, rather it’s just a mostly unplanned one that will probably last in total around another half a week or a full week, depending on how fast I get over this illness.

Okay, so it just recently dawned on me that it’s been nearly 4 months since my last video and over 2 months since my last update at all. I figure this update is long overdue, but hey, at least it’s good news? Or at the very least it isn’t bad news.



So right now, I don’t have a set date for when I want to get my Higu question arcs theory video out given that I haven’t even started the process of recording it, but I’m hoping to get it out before the year ends or very shortly after. My theorizing is pretty much done (unless I look at my theories after some time away from them and suddenly hate my theories and fully rework them or something, which I’m hoping I’ll avoid even if I dislike my theories in some ways), so all that is left is to summarize it in a video. This would make it so that I can hopefully start chapter 5 pretty much right as the new year begins.


As for what took so long, it’s a combination of a few factors. First of all, as I mentioned in previous updates, I moved houses. While the move itself was pretty short I didn’t have my PC setup for a few weeks, so it took a while to get settled, and then when I finally was settled I had to jump into a job search right away. Despite that though I actually did focus on Higurashi for a while… it was just all off camera theorizing, so nothing tangible for viewers. I spent a good few weeks working on Higu theories on and off, and honestly by the end of it I just needed a break from Higurashi that has lasted until right around now. While I don’t feel bad about taking this break at all, I probably should have just communicated this instead of leaving everyone in the dark for as long as I did, so that’s on me.

Just wanted to provide another update on the Higurashi series. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, the theory video is not going to be out before I move tomorrow. While I wanted to get this out before I moved and did manage to finish the rewatch I had school stuff to focus on as well as preparing for the move, so the rewatch ended a little later than I had hoped and didn't leave me enough time to finish the video.

I don't have a real estimation on how long it will be until I'm set up and recording the theory video, but it really shouldn't take too long to get some kind of basic setup since I'm going to need my PC ASAP for school related things anyways. I'll provide an update on the video once I have a good idea of when it will be ready. I am really hoping/thinking it won't be too long though because I'm looking forward to finalizing my theories in that video and then moving on to chapter 5!

I've got another important update to share regarding the Higurashi series! Due to me moving halfway across the United States in 10 days, the target date for the theory video and start dates for chapter 5 will be pushed back by around a week.

I think if it really came down to it I could still finish the rewatch + theory video by the current target date of the 20th (it'd be really close though), but my options after that are to either grind all of chapter 5 in less than a week (while I'm trying to pack/hang out with my friends before I leave), to have an interruption of an unknown length in the middle of chapter 5 due the the move/getting set back up, or to wait until after I've moved and am set back up to play chapter 5.

Personally I think it makes the most sense to just wait until I've set back up to ensure that there isn't an interruption in the middle, and so I think that if I'm not going to be recording chapter 5 until probably the 29th at the absolute earliest anyways then I might as well move the target date for the theory video back a bit to give myself a bit more time to iron out my theories and then get the video together at the quality I want it at (in an ideal world the video includes me jumping around in the text to support my theories where I can). The new target date for the theory video is for it to be scheduled by no later than the 27th of this month, since that is my move out day.

I do apologize for the delay, but I think if it ensures that I don't take a week long break in the middle of chapter 5 it's probably worth it in the long run.

Just wanted to provide an update on the Higurashi rewatch given that it's been nearly 2 weeks!

I have been making significant progress in the rewatch, and have just finished chapter 2. This just leaves the 10 episodes from chapter 3, which I suspect I can get done in like 4-5 days. I'm probably not fully rewatching chapter 4 unless I get chapter 3 done faster than I expect I will. This leaves me a few days to get my theory video together and still have it ready for the end of the September 16th-20th target date range.

I have no clue how correct my theories are, but I will say my ideas have become much more well defined than they were prior to the rewatch. I definitely think the rewatch was the right move even if I'm dead wrong, because it at least gave me a chance to actually throw some theories out there that have a slim chance of making me look like a genius and/or are a much larger chance that it's something we can all later point and laugh at. Imo that's at least more fun than just moving on and me basically just being like "I have no clue what is happening".

Also, for anyone interested, I have 2 big documents which contain most of my thoughts from before/during the rewatch. One is a theory document (mostly written before the rewatch, but contains sections with theory changes after both chapter 1 and 2 rewatches were completed), the other is just me writing my thoughts as I watch/rewatch (some of the thoughts on there are like 2 years old which are kind of funny to see). I have just returned home from my most recent trip to visit family and figured I'd provide a quick update on the next Higurashi video (which is the final theory video before answer arcs begin).


The plan is currently to rewatch my series with the new perspective of having played chapters 1-4 to see if it helps give me any clues to the many mysteries that I haven't fully grasped, but I am way further behind on the rewatch than I had hoped to be since I spent most of my time away with family (Fake YouTuber spending time with family smh). I was hoping that by watching during my free time I'd end up finishing maybe the first chapter of the game, but I'm literally only on episode 3 out of 36 right now. I could probably drop this number to 28 if I cut chapter 4 from the rewatch due to recency and then skip the review sessions, but that is still nowhere near completion.


Initially my target was to post this week and I don't think it's a stretch to say there is no shot I finish a full rewatch that quick since even a relatively fast pace of 2 videos per day would take me 2 weeks to watch everything. I'm moving my target to upload back to the week of September 9th-13th at the earliest (which is probably still ambitious) and hopefully no later than the week of September 16th-Septermber 20th (significantly less ambitious but kind of far out).

This probably doesn't really need a poll since I'd currently like to do the rewatch to try to understand things better (no promise it actually helps though) and at the end of the day I'm the one who chooses when I upload, but I'm still going to poll whether you guys are fine with waiting that long for the rewatch or not.
