CharisDEVO: Fear Not, God Is With You

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” — Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)

Fear is one of the most common negative emotions every human being has experienced at some point in life. While fear may be common to man, God’s Word repeatedly charges us not to be afraid—and for good reason.

Fear has a way of paralyzing the soul, preventing us from doing what God has already ordained us to do. The enemy thrives on fear because it attempts to open the door for doubt, torment, and a sense of defeat.

Every great figure in the Bible faced moments of fear, yet God consistently encouraged them through His Word. Peter faced raging sea waves. Paul stood before Romans and hostile accusers.

Joshua was commanded to lead God’s people into unfamiliar territory and was repeatedly told not to be afraid.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

Having a strong, unshakable understanding of God’s love for you will keep you grounded in His ability to protect, provide, and direct your path.

The more you study, meditate on, and confess the Word of God concerning His love, the more conscious you become of that love—and the less room fear has to remain in your heart.

Everything God does flows from His love. Understanding His love is like discovering a priceless treasure. Once you grasp it, you realize you’ve stepped into an endless journey of security, confidence, and peace in Him. #charisdevo #charisnotes

CharisDEVO: Jesus Qualified You

“…giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.”
— Colossians 1:12

God our Father has qualified us to be partakers of His divine inheritance in Christ Jesus. We are no longer on the outside looking in—we are in.

We were qualified by the blood of Jesus when He died on the cross over 2,000 years ago. His sacrifice was the greatest offering ever presented to the Father for the punishment of sin.

God placed all our punishment on Jesus so that we would never be separated from Him again. As born-again believers, we have been brought near because we acknowledge that Jesus came from the Father and accomplished the work of redemption.

“He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”
— John 6:56

Accepting Jesus’ body and blood, which were offered for our sins, is the reason we have been qualified. You are not qualified by your status in society, your money, your height, or your intelligence—only Jesus’ sacrifice ushered us into the God-life.

You are no longer condemned, unworthy, or inadequate because Jesus paid the price.

As you meditate on God’s Word, may He enrich your inner man with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of your inheritance in Christ Jesus.

CharisDEVO: Grace for Strength and Speed

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. — Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Pursuing the mind of God for your life is one of the greatest responsibilities we have. No one can cultivate a relationship with the Father on our behalf.

We pursue God by waiting on Him. And waiting on Him is not passive—it is like a waiter serving at a restaurant. The waiter receives requests, carries them to the chef, and returns with what has been prepared.

A waiter cannot execute an order until the patron places one. In the same way, as we wait on the Lord—attentive, listening, ready to serve—He renews our strength. He gives us divine speed, boldness, and grace to accomplish His will.

Waiting on God aligns us with His way and His timing. It prevents us from running ahead in our own strength. Jesus said, “The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do” (John 5:19). If the Son waited on the Father, how much more should we?

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. — Luke 10:42 (KJV)

Mary was not idle—she was intentional. She chose to sit at Jesus’ feet because what flows from His mouth is eternal, true, and faithful.

As you wait at the feet of Jesus, may His Word renew your strength. May He cause you to soar like the eagle. May you run without weariness and walk without fainting. And may the strength of Almighty God sustain you through and through.

CharisDEVO: How You Correct People Matters

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. — Galatians 6:1

The way you correct people matters to God. How you respond to another person’s sin reveals your maturity in Christ.

Sadly, this is often overlooked today. When someone falls, the instruction is not to shame them, but to restore them gently. Many who sin are already battling condemnation from the enemy. A harsh response can push them further away, but gentleness reminds them that God does not despise them when they stumble.

God is always working to restore people because He does not want anyone to remain bound or unchanged. There is a place of restoration for everyone, no matter how far they have gone.

Your gentleness can become the very bridge that draws someone back to God and empowers them to rise above that sin.

Spiritual growth does not happen overnight. God trains us daily—through correction, conviction, and grace—so that we may grow stronger and eventually help strengthen others.

But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren. — Luke 22:32

Peter denied Jesus three times and even returned to fishing after the ascension. Yet the Lord never stopped pursuing him. Jesus restored Peter and entrusted him with strengthening others.

Today, we quote the Apostle Peter because God did not give up on him.

Do not give up on people. Do not entertain sin—rebuke when necessary—but always remember that gentleness will accomplish what harshness never can.

CharisDEVO: Conquering the Lust of the Flesh

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” — Galatians 5:16 (KJV)

The flesh lusts after things that are earthly. Food, money, fame, and power are some of the most common pursuits in the world because they give a temporary sense of fulfillment. But anything rooted in the flesh is fleeting.

God calls us to desire the things of the Spirit instead of chasing what cannot last. Today we are here; tomorrow is not promised. Many did not wake up this morning to continue pursuing worldly ambitions.

As children of God, we are encouraged to pursue God-things. When you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, you experience a fulfillment that the world cannot guarantee. True fulfillment comes from walking with Jesus.

“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” — 1 John 2:17 (KJV)

The Bible tells us the truth about God, and the Spirit of God reminds us of that truth daily. To walk in the Spirit means to walk in obedience to God—not according to every desire that rises in your heart.

The more we set our minds on things above, the less appetite we will have for the lusts of the flesh (Colossians 3:1-3). The more we feed the spirt, the more the desires of the flesh will lose their grip on us.

CharisDEVO: Branded by Christ

“However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.” — 1 Timothy 1:16

Saul, who later became Paul, persecuted the Church in ignorance. He genuinely believed he was serving the living God while attacking the very body of Christ.

But everything changed the moment he encountered Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

In that encounter, revelation replaced ignorance. Mercy triumphed over judgment. Grace interrupted his past.

Jesus forgave Paul—even though he had persecuted believers and was complicit in the deaths of the saints. Paul’s life became living proof that no one is beyond the reach of God’s mercy.

His testimony stands as a pattern of divine longsuffering, love, and transforming grace. God does not condone sin—but He forgives it. He does not rehearse your past—He redeems it.

When Christ forgives, He does not simply overlook your sin—He removes it. He cleanses. He restores. He makes new.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Your past has no legal authority over your present identity in Christ. In Him, you are not reformed—you are recreated.

You are branded by mercy. Marked by grace. Sealed by Christ.

And because of this new identity, we can walk in love—drawing strength from Him and receiving the grace to live above the systems of this present world.

CharisDEVO: Promotion from Above

“For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He puts down one, and sets up another.” — Psalm 75:6–7

Over the years, I have learned that God truly rewards those who diligently seek Him. He will exalt you in due season—if you allow Him to work on you.

Why? Because His Word says so.

God is the only One I know who says “yes” and maintains it. He never wastes words. He is faithful to perform what He has spoken.

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” — 1 Peter 5:6

In this generation, self-promotion has become easier than ever. With internet access and social media marketing, individuals and organizations invest heavily to amplify their message.

But when it is time for God to reward you, He does not need a marketing team.

He sees what you do in secret. He knows your private obedience. And He promises that those who do not faint will be rewarded openly.

Do not focus so much on visibility—focus on your heart.

Check your motives. Let them be pure. Do nothing for vain glory, fame, money, or applause.

“Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.” — Galatians 5:26

Those who seek earthly glory already have their reward.

But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will receive peace, rest, and divine elevation.

Their promotion will not come from people.

It will come from the King of glory Himself.
