CharisDEVO: Sharing God’s Lively Hope

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
— 1 Peter 1:3 (KJV)

The hope we carry within us is living and active because Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Our hope is not an idea, a feeling, or wishful thinking—it is rooted in a resurrected Savior.

Hope is the positive expectation within us that says something good is going to happen. Through Jesus we have been brought in to enjoy this lively hope.

Without Jesus, humanity would be utterly miserable and without direction. But praise be to God—we are not forgotten. Many people have passed from this world without Christ, and scripture makes it clear that there is no hope in hell. Hope is only found in Jesus Christ, and that hope is available now.

Through Christ, we have received hope—and with it, a commission. We are called to take this hope to a world that is spiritually desperate.

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. — Ephesians 6:15 (KJV)

There is nothing more fulfilling than ministering Jesus to others. Even when you do not see immediate results, the Word of God is still at work. Never underestimate what God is doing beneath the surface.

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. — 1 Corinthians 3:6–7 (KJV)

Our responsibility is to sow the Word of hope in Christ. Others may come to water, but it is God who brings the increase. Faithfulness in sharing the gospel is never wasted—hope planted today can become salvation tomorrow.

CharisDEVO: True Treasure

“I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure.”
— Psalm 119:162

There are people today who would do almost anything for fame, money, power, or influence, yet very few truly value the Word of God. Many have been subtly programmed to believe that what they need most is what they can see with their physical eyes.

But brothers and sisters, your life will take a dramatic turn when your eyes are opened to the riches hidden in the Word of God. You don’t need material things as much as you think you do.

What you truly need is clear understanding and revelation of God’s Word.

The Word of God contains everything you need to live a stable, victorious life—both in this world and in the world to come.

David treasured the Word.
Job said he esteemed God’s Word more than his necessary food (Job 23:12).
But what are we saying about the Word?

Simon Peter answered Jesus:

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
— John 6:68

When Jesus said that His followers must eat His flesh and drink His blood to become one with Him, many who followed Him walked away. Their revelation of Christ was shallow and could not withstand testing.

But Peter understood something deeper—Jesus did not just speak truth; He carried the words of eternal life.

We choose God’s Word because He remains faithful and true.

The treasures of this world will pass away.
The lusts of this world will perish.
But the Word of God lives forever.

Ask God to increase your hunger and desire for His Word.

“…having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.”
— 1 Peter 1:23

As believers in Christ, you now possess a new, incorruptible nature. God made you new by His incorruptible Word, and He desires that you continue to feed on the same Word that gave you life.

CharisDEVO: Let the Word Dwell Richly

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”— Colossians 3:16

Having a strong foundation in the Word of God is not optional—especially in these end times. The Word is God’s primary means of guiding His people through life. Fellowship with God begins and grows through fellowship with His Word.

We cannot truly know the Almighty God apart from His Word. Every revelation of God’s nature, will, and purpose is communicated through it.

“But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”
— Acts 6:4

The early church understood that devotion to the Word was essential for spiritual strength and clarity. The same remains true today.

Spend time studying the Word of God as though your life depends on it—because it does. No matter how intense life becomes, the Word of God brings light, direction, and understanding.

“Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.”
— 1 Timothy 4:15

As you study, allow certain Scriptures to stand out. Carry them with you. Think on them daily. The more you meditate on the Word, the more conscious you become of God’s presence and voice.

Jesus Himself relied on the Word when He was tempted. He did not argue with the enemy—He quoted Scripture, and the enemy fled.

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
— Matthew 4:4

If Jesus studied, trusted, and spoke the Word, then we must do the same. How can we stand on the Word if we do not know it? How can we speak it with confidence if it does not dwell richly within us?

May the Lord grant us wisdom and spiritual understanding as we devote ourselves to His Word.

CharisDEVO: Follow the voice of the good Shepherd

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
— John 10:10 (KJV)

Jesus made this statement after explaining that the thief does not enter through the gate. Instead, he comes in another way. When this thief speaks, God’s sheep do not respond—because they do not recognize his voice.

This brings us to an important question: Which voice should we pay attention to?
The answer is simple—God’s voice.

God’s voice is revealed through His Word. The Word of God carries His nature, His truth, and His will. Any voice that contradicts the Word, no matter how convincing it sounds, is not from the Shepherd.

In this passage, Jesus was not primarily referring to the devil. Rather, He was addressing false prophets and teachers of the law—particularly the Pharisees—who claimed spiritual authority but did not love God’s people. They kept people in bondage through legalism, fear, and control, rather than leading them into freedom and life.

The enemy may be behind deception, but he often works through human systems, teachings, and voices that distort God’s truth.

Jesus makes it clear: those who belong to Him will not follow another voice. His sheep respond only to the voice of the Shepherd—the voice of truth, grace, and life.

The Bible reminds us that in this world there are many voices, many languages, and none is without meaning. Yet not every voice leads to life.

Choose the voice of God.
Choose the voice of freedom, love, abundant life, and a sound mind. Choose the voice of truth.

Follow the Shepherd of truth—Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

CharisDEVO: Joint-Heirs with Christ

“Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ…”
— Romans 8:17

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ was God’s ultimate provision to cleanse humanity from the original sin of Adam. Everyone who receives the Son of God is granted an inheritance that is eternal and incorruptible.

In natural life, inheritances are usually received after the passing of a loved one. But in Christ, God shares His inheritance with us now, through Jesus. Anyone who accepts Christ becomes an heir of God.

The greatest of this inheritance is the gift of the Holy Spirit.

“…having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.”
— Ephesians 1:13

We now carry the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. What a profound and glorious blessing!

“To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.”
— 1 Peter 1:4

Earthly inheritances fade, but those who have inherited the life of God will endure forever. To be called a joint-heir with Christ is truly mind-blowing. We have received the greatest inheritance imaginable—Christ Himself.

No wonder Paul declared, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). Your inheritance has been sealed by the Holy Spirit, and even greater glory will be revealed when Jesus returns.

CharisDEVO: The Strength of a Horse

“He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.”
— Psalm 147:10

Where we draw our strength from reveals the depth of our trust in God. Those who rely on themselves are, in effect, trusting in the strength of the horse or the might of man.

But those who trust in the Lord draw their strength from God Himself. There is a place called the rest of God—a place where striving ends and divine strength begins.

God’s people are called to rest in Him and depend on His strength. When we rely solely on our own abilities, we become weary and drained. Self-dependence exhausts, but God-dependence renews.

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
— John 15:5

As the body of Christ, we were never meant to live by our own strength. We are limited in many ways, but the strength of the Lord sustains us, directs us, and makes our paths straight.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
— Philippians 4:13

Paul did not trust in himself—he trusted in Christ for strength. Everything he accomplished was rooted in divine empowerment, not human ability. Even Jesus, while on earth, depended fully on the Father for strength.

This reminds us that anyone clothed in flesh and blood must learn to rest in the Lord and draw strength from Him.

As you meditate on these Scriptures today, cast all your cares, worries, and anxieties upon the Lord. Ask Him to strengthen you from within—and choose to rest in His sufficient grace.

CharisDEVO: Increase in Knowledge

“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”
— Colossians 1:9

Our experience with the Lord Jesus Christ is often limited by how much we truly know Him. There are believers today who do not engage in communion with the Holy Spirit. Their walk with God remains at the salvation level—genuine, yet shallow—lacking depth, intimacy, and growth.

Jesus is calling us deeper.

The Spirit of God extends an open invitation for us to ascend through a growing knowledge of Jesus Christ. Christianity was never meant to be a static experience; it is a living relationship that matures through revelation.

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.”
— Ephesians 1:17

We cannot truly know God without revelation. Jesus must be revealed to us personally before we can walk with Him intimately. Many who once professed faith have drifted away because doubts and unbelief were sown where revelation was absent.

Revelation anchors faith.

Ask the Lord to grant you deeper revelation of His Son. Ask Him to open the eyes of your heart so you may see Jesus as He truly is—not through religion, tradition, or fear, but through truth and intimacy.

“That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death.”
— Philippians 3:10

May our desire to know Jesus increase daily. May we never pursue the knowledge of this world above the knowledge of God. And may our hearts continually hunger for deeper intimacy with Christ.

CharisDEVO: Protected in Christ

“For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me upon a rock.” — Psalm 27:5

God guarantees our protection as children of His kingdom. In the natural, presidents and high-level government officials are surrounded by security because of the responsibility and exposure that come with their office.

Public service carries risks, and those risks are mitigated by increased protection. The same principle applies in the spiritual realm.

As sons and daughters of God, we are targets of the enemy of our souls—Satan—who seeks to oppose the plan and purpose of God for our lives. Praise God we are secure in Christ.

“For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
— Colossians 3:3

We are in Christ, and Christ is in God. This is the safest position any believer can occupy. God has placed us in Christ, surrounded by His presence and upheld by His power. There truly is no place better than being in Him.

We do not have to fear what Satan or his forces can do, because we now live under the dominion of Christ. Our position in Him is strong, secure, and exalted—far above every power that seeks to harm us.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
— Psalm 23:4

Do not be afraid of the terror that comes from the kingdom of darkness. God’s Word reassures us that we are kept by His power.

There is no power—on earth or in the unseen realm—that can pluck us out of God’s pavilion. We are in God, and God is in us.

Glory be to God!

CharisDEVO: Now Is the Time

“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise.”
— Ephesians 5:15 (NKJV)

2026 is upon us. The Lord has a call on our lives and He desires to see us walk in His perfect will for our lives. Now is the time to walk wisely. Now is the time to step out in faith and allow the Lord to lead us.

Wise people seek God’s counsel. Wise people surround themselves with other wise people. As you seek the Lord, His Spirit will guide you and equip you with everything you need to accomplish what He has called you to do.

For some, this message will be clear. For others, it may feel unsettling—but that is often how awakening begins.

“Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
— Ephesians 5:14–17 (NKJV)

Yesterday’s season is gone. A new one is here. Now is the time to rekindle your fire for Jesus. Do not allow the wrong voices or relationships to dim the vision God has placed within you. Be willing to let go of friendships that lead you away from holiness, and ask God to surround you with people who will sharpen your faith.

Now is the time to spend more time in God’s Word—praying, interceding, and even fasting. Now is the time to write the vision down and take intentional, obedient steps forward.

Now is the hour of reconciliation. Forgive quickly. Do not allow bitterness to take root in your heart. Now is the hour of love—to love unconditionally, just as Christ has loved us.

Now is the hour of mercy. Every breath you take is evidence of God’s mercy toward you. Extend that same mercy to those who have hurt or offended you.

Now is the hour of faith—the time to believe God’s Word concerning your life. Be rooted in who you are in Christ, because a shaking is coming upon the earth. Now is the time to prepare, and not to live like the foolish virgins who had no oil when the bridegroom came (Matthew 25).

Now is the time to make sure there is oil in your lamp. Darkness will increase, but we are called to shine. Be the light of Jesus in your family, career, relationships, workplace, and community.

Now is the day of salvation. Happy New Year!

Prayer of Salvation

Please pray this prayer of Jesus is not your Lord and Savior.

Father,
I believe You sent Jesus to die for my sins.
I believe in my heart that He rose from the dead,
and I confess Jesus as Lord of my life.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit
and guide me in the path You have prepared for me.
From this moment forward, I belong to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

CharisDEVO: Draw Near to God

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
James 4:8 (KJV)

Our Father in heaven is calling us into a place of absolute surrender, where the only thing that truly matters is Him. The Word and the Spirit of God have the power to transform us from within, reshaping our hearts, our desires, and our lives.

We draw near to the Father through repentance and a transformed heart. When we sin, we ask Him for forgiveness and cleansing, trusting in His mercy and grace. He is faithful to restore us when we turn back to Him.

Scripture reminds us:

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2 (KJV)

Transformation begins as we study the Word of God and allow Him to renew our minds and redirect our lives according to His truth.

Jesus prayed:

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
John 17:17 (KJV)

To be sanctified means to be made clean, purified, and set apart for a special purpose. This cleansing cannot happen apart from the Word of God—it is through His truth that we are made holy.

Jesus is in the business of setting us apart for His purpose, but He patiently waits for us to turn toward Him in obedience and faith. Give your all to Him, and you will never regret it. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
