Military History Unveiled

I’m Luis, a 18-year-old historian and creator of Military History Unveiled. My mission is to preserve and honor the memories of those who served by sharing their stories with the world. Through more than 70 veteran interviews, including over 60 from World War II, I strive to give a voice to the men and women who lived through history’s most defining moments.

Every interview is a chance to remember, to learn, and to ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten. My goal is to educate and inspire as many people as possible through their words and experiences.

Subscribe to help keep their stories alive and join me in unveiling the human side of history.

Military History Unveiled

Today, at 18 years old, I had the profound honor of interviewing Jean Turco who’s 108 years old, the oldest living man in France, and a veteran of the Battle of France in 1940.
He walked me through his extraordinary story in vivid detail: enlisting in 1938, being wounded in the fighting at Épinal, and then surviving five long years of forced labor in German factories attempting to escape not once, but twice.

What struck me most was that at 108, Monsieur Turco is sharp, funny, and someone who genuinely wants to connect with every generation.

I feel incredibly honored to help preserve his story, and to share a French perspective on the war with a new generation—young people on this side of the ocean who might otherwise never hear it.
Merci infiniment, Monsieur Turco. 🇫🇷

Interview coming soon to Military History Unveiled.

I'm overwhelmed by the response to Mr. Gibbons' 92nd birthday posts — thank you to everyone who left a comment celebrating and thanking him for his service. Because of you, we truly made this a special day for him.
I printed out the 130+ comments we had before heading over, and by the time I got home, we'd already crossed 260 across our social media pages! I'll be bringing him this next batch soon so he can see just how many people showed up for him.
It was deeply inspiring to watch people come together to honor one man's life and service. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
We spent over two hours listening to Mr. Gibbons regale us with stories from his time at the St. George Reef Lighthouse, the most dangerous Coast Guard post of its era.
On a related note: this post is part of a project I've been working on for the past 3 years, dedicated to interviewing and honoring WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans. If you know someone who might be interested, please reach out — I'd love to hear from you: ldrs2828@gmail.com

Help us make a Korean War Veteran feel seen on his Birthday! 🇺🇸🎉
Yesterday, I called up my friend Mr. Gibbons, a Korean War veteran turning 92 today, to check on him. He told me he’s doing alright, but that he’s outlived all his friends and family and is the last one left.
I’m visiting him tonight with cake and friends, but I want to bring him lots of messages too!
Can you drop a "Happy Birthday" or message in the comments?

Happy 250th America! Today is about remembering that the freedoms we enjoy were hard-won and paid for. We've got problems, like every nation does, but the standard of living, the opportunity, and the freedom we often take for granted here are things most of the world still only dreams of. Let’s take a minute to be grateful for it.

5,000 Subscribers, Thank You!!!
I started this channel in 8th grade with one hope: to find people who genuinely cared about history and the human stories behind it. Four years later, here we are, 5,000 of you.
People like you, who are passionate about preservation and the stories that shaped our world, are what make this work feel worthwhile. This has never just been a channel to me, and I know it's never just been content to you and that means everything.
I couldn't be more proud of the community we've built, and this is something I plan on doing for many years to come. Thank you for being a part of the journey.

Military History Unveiled

Today I conducted my 50th interview with a World War II veteran.
When I started this journey, I never imagined I would reach this number. Fifty men who trusted me over the past three years with their memories of war, sacrifice, loss, and survival.
My 50th interview was with a survivor of the Bataan Death March, one of the last still with us.
His hope is simple: that young people will remember.
I promise we will.
To every veteran and every family who has made these conversations possible — thank you. This work is the greatest honor of my life.
