A good friend of mine has been writing surveying software for years. Its called miniCAD. Visit - mapsoft.com.au
It has a very similar flavour to programs like Civilcad or Magnet. Its an Australian designed and owned software and capable of handling many of the important surveying calculations we use on a daily basis such as least squares (localisation), cut / fill volume calcs, long sections and cross sections, contouring, basic draw point, traverse, draw line, offset calcs etc...
Its miniCAD but big in what it offers.
So good its a subscription based software at $75 AUD per year....
You'd be mad not to download a free trial and test for yourself.

Hi everyone. Thanks to all who have subscribed and left comments saying they plan to take up a form of study in Surveying whether that be a TAFE or University or equiv.
I'd like to promote another option for study in Australia called the "Surveyors Academy".

The training model is a work based program that requires one day per week
release from work to attend online, teacher led theory training. Practical training is
through work based evidence collection under a supervising surveyor, mapped to
the units of competency with work based and online assessments.

Hi everyone! Hope all is well. I've just got back from a European holiday. With the recent IT glitch which caused major disruptions worldwide with computers, airlines, banks etc --- I was caught up in it. Just getting back to Australia was a nightmare.
