For all the music aficionados, we have some good news: Tsunku♂ now has a website where he shared exactly which tracks he composed for all the Rhythm Heaven games, which means that we now know exactly the tracks he composed for Megamix. Not only that, but there's also information about who arranged his songs across the series! Here's some small tibdits:
- He composed for Megamix WAY MORE than what we anticipated. That includes most of the prequels, half the remixes (we only knew about the vocal ones), some menus and also minigames like Catchy Tune, Pajama Party or Sumo Brothers. - The team of Tsunku's arrangers has been pretty consistent through the entire series. - Love Lab and Pajama Party share the same arranger (AKIRA), and it's possible he's the lyricist. He composed Love Rap as well.
I highly recommend to check out the website, since Tsunku also gives some tibdits about his compositions there, it's here: www.tsunku.net/producework.php?Music_ArtistID=189&…. The playlist of his compositions has been updated to add all the Megamix songs and also the arrangers of every theme composed by him. Thanks to sA for finding out!
Really hope this means we'll get a Megamix CD release rather sooner than later 🤞. Also pic unrelated.
I'm happy to announce that later today we'll be sharing the OST from "Paradis du Rythme Mégamix"!
Basically, it's a fan project put together by @FireChatMPF to dub all the vocal songs from Rhythm Heaven Megamix to French, aside from the RHDS ones which already got a dub back when that game released and got reused. Not only that but the SFX are also dubbed to French. It's a very profesional dub and just goes to prove the dedication and love that the fans still hold onto the series, even when here in Europe we haven't got dubs in our languages ever since Fever/Beat the Beat. Really, I recommend to give it a listen and a play too if you're curious!
So today "Nintendo Music" was released, finally an official service to listen to Nintendo music! (Other than a few CD releases here and there lol).
As you may know, this channel was created due to Gilvasunner's original uploads of Rhythm Heaven's OST (and their entire channel) being deleted due to copyright claims. And as such, I'm happy that at least Nintendo is finally giving the fans an alternative to *actually* listen to their music. Sure, you need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to access it, and its music selection is really limited as of now, but I'm hoping it improves overtime. That and that they upload Rhythm Heaven's soundtrack eventually lol.
One thing I didn't like though is that the composers aren't credited. Like at all. So I thought it would be a fun idea to make RH playlists dedicated to the different composers the series has, that way is easier to see. Sadly Fever's CD credits their Nintendo composers only as "Nintendo", and we also don't have an official Megamix CD so we only know a couple tracks from that game. Have a nice listen!
We wanted to make a quick, technical announcement. It has come to our attention that the rips from the Rhythm Tengoku Complete Collection and the Complete Vocal Collection CDs (respectively, the one with all Rhythm Tengoku + RHDS's OST and the one with all multilanguage songs from RHDS) are slightly modified. More precisely, all the songs from RHDS were remastered by someone before being uploaded, and this applies to most RHDS rips you'll find online. You can check the comparison here; the top one is the actual CD rip (which has the same quality as in-game), while the bottom one is the unofficial remaster.
What does that mean regarding this channel? Honestly not much, just that the quality isn't 1:1 the one from the games, in fact it's better. Due to that, we probably won't be re-uploading them, but we still wanted to make it public knowledge just so you know.
And that's it for now. We'll also resume uploading the rest of Rhythm Tengoku Arcade soonish, as it was kind of in stand by due to personal circumnstances. Sorry about that, and hope you enjoy!
Heaven Studio, a tool to create and play your own RH custom remixes, got its first official release! Easily one of the most ambitious projects from the Rhythm Heaven community. Congrats! To celebrate, and thanks to saladplainzone, we'll be sharing its official soundtrack on this channel!
Personally, I didn't rip it earlier as the majority of the tracks are either the same as the GBA game, or worse sounding. They're not all "higher quality" like a lot of people believe.
The only tracks I'd say don't fit into that trend and aren't new are any that used the Game Boy PSG ("chiptune") channels, as they have said channels replaced with a synth due to the differing hardware. I do quite like those ones over the originals, as they're different in a way that isn't too weird.
I know the audio hardware is more advanced, but that doesn't mean the tracks were ported very well. Lots of the music sounds off at best and are ear-ringing at worst (Listen to The Clappy Trio, Remix 1, and Cat Machine Demo for some examples). Compare the ported tracks to the new TEMPO UP! ones, which were intended with the hardware in mind.
It's MOTHER 1+2 all over again, really. A port where most of the tracks were butchered, with a few that do sound interesting, but inaccurate to the originals. This time we even have one of the sound team members saying they "tried to recreate the same sound". Yeah, they "definitely" did.
Some tracks sound more interesting here, I'll give them that. Plus a few tracks that aren't totally butchered aren't on the CD, so I guess that's your "higher quality than GBA version".
At least they're preserved now. The people who want them can have them freely.
Anyway, Tengoku Arcade was quite difficult to mod. Not many people really care about modding this version of the game. I can see why, after the hell we (really just Shaffy) went through.
On the bright side, Shaffy (Who did all of the modding), has created a tool so now you can cue edit Arcade as you wish.
On that topic, we (once again, Shaffy) are working on porting the TEMPO UP! stage and games to the GBA, including the music.
This should mean no one has to deal with Arcade and it's rather annoying decisions and music (Granted, the tracks WILL be on the GBA audio chip, so they won't be exactly the same for obvious reasons).
I'll rip that when we make it, along with some other fanmade Tengoku tracks such as the english/korean vocal tracks (when they're made, in the case of the former).
It'll be part of the Advance retranslation, if you want them. (Shameless plug here > discord.gg/8PET8w8PU8)
Anyway, enjoy the entire soundtrack, everyone! This should be the last one in terms of the gamerips (for now?).
- sA"
So yeah, if you wanna listen to the tracks rn, you can do it easily here: archive.org/details/RhythmTengokuArcade-EX-Gamerip… We'll probably start uploading the Arcade OST in here soonish too, even if the difference isn't huge I think it'll be interesting for everyone that's a fan of the series as well as for the preservation of it. See ya!
Hi I'm alive and this is actually not a joke but something very important for the preservation of Rhythm Heaven's OST! Recently my pal sA worked very hard on putting together the entire series' OST in the highest possible quality (Tengoku is literally lossless); that includes the Tempo Up! tracks from the Arcade and lots (and I mean LOTS) of different variations, so you Coin Toss, Remix 1 or Big Rock Finish fans won't be disappointed, dw ;)

Hi! DavidMismol here, with a new update regarding the Rhythm Tengoku Arcade rips, although I'll actually let my friend sA do the speaking:
