So it seems Nintendo Network isn’t actually down (at least on Wii U). You can’t log into games, but if you’re already in, they may still work. Played MM1 for 5½ hours after shutdown without issue (sadly I needed sleep).
Splatoon died at 6 AM UTC, MK8 matchmaking is goofy but otherwise works, and MM1 fully works. For this reason I will not be releasing a shutdown video, as it depends on the game.

I am extremely angry right now. During the month of October I have received multiple vague punishments on my channel regarding violations of YouTube’s spam, deceptive practices and scams policies through comments I’ve posted. The first notice was on the 4th and I was frustrated but brushed it off as commenting too quickly. I also made a post about this when it happened. I then received a second notice on the 17th that led to a 1-day comment ban. This was insane, and I immediately planned to make a video about it but decided again to brush it off and postpone it. And now, on the night of the 31st, I have received yet another notice, this time a warning again. This is not a coincidence anymore. I have no clue what comments are breaking the rules and it is ludicrous that YouTube chooses to enforce their rules like this. I will be resuming my plans to make a video about all this but it’s not for clout or even to get YouTube’s attention, it’s just to vent my anguish over this platform’s shortcomings as I’ve had enough of this place and am getting tired of participating in Google’s sheer dominance over online video.
I have just requested a full Google Takeout export of my data because at this point there is a realistic chance I will lose my channel if this continues. It’s also worth noting that if this channel gets terminated and I’m unable to get it reinstated then that’s pretty much it for me here and for the most part I will no longer be watching videos, commenting, participating in live chats, etc. YouTube has been a large part of my life for many years but I am more than willing to let it go at this point. I will still be around on the internet in some small capacity though. It was a comment so I’ve received zero context as to how I’ve violated their incredibly vague policies but I’ve never left any kind of comment like this. However, I’m not going to change the way I comment and if this gets my channel terminated then so be it 👍
Unfortunately it was announced less than an hour ago that 3DS and Wii U online will be shutting down in early April 2024. I’ll be making a similar shutdown video to the one I made for the eShop. Sad to see them go
My laptop’s screen broke for… seemingly no reason. This is unfortunate, but it has also given me the idea to use Steam’s Big Picture Mode to essentially transform my laptop into a console. Would you be interested in me reviewing this rarely-used Steam feature?
