A/POLITICAL prioritises intellectual curiosity and informed discourse around social and political concerns through contemporary art and cultural practices. It encourages the exploration of radical knowledge, platforming voices that interrogate the critical issues and dominant narratives of our time. Through rigorous cross-disciplinary experimentation, A/POLITICAL collaborates on large-scale projects previously thought unreasonable due to their scale, logistical complexity and/or subject matter.
A/POLITICAL label approaches music with the same project based methodology. It is a space for musicians to take risks, collaborate with artists and release music unsuitable for mainstream labels.
Based in London and in France with The Foundry.
A/POLITICAL
MONEY TO BURN is a performance on Wall Street by Dread Scott in which the artist burned $250 in cash, bill by bill, while inviting onlookers, including traders, to do the same.
Chanting “money to burn” like a street peddler, the artist exposed the contradiction at the heart of financial capitalism: that burning money in public is seen as irrational, while billions can disappear in market crashes without question.

A/POLITICAL presents SPASM - a new project by Maja Smrekar, created in response to a world dominated by constant emergencies, global terror, relentless surveillance and pervasive fear.
SPASM examines how these forces corrode human connection, reflecting on death as the only remaining space of autonomy – uncolonised by capitalism.
In collaboration with @fbfx4175, a leading special effects costume creator, who developed a series of digital photos in meta human technology.
