The manager to a kitchen I once cooked for asked the ladies in charge of the africana section to prepare jollof rice for our security men.

they prepared the food and deliver it, after few hours thesame food was returned to the kitchen which they send a note along with the food that state

"because we be gate men no mean say them go dey give us dog food"

Boom the ladies start quarreling at their section insulting the gatemen that they are not happy they see food to eat and they are complaining, and hungry never warry them bedat.

After some minutes the manager called me and said Bawa I know you have been in the kitchen since 4am and so tired but please can you help me prepare Jollof rice for the gatemen, and I reply okay sir.

when I drop my phone and was heading to the kitchen, I was not going there with the intention of cooking for gatemen but for human beings, and I went there and prepared the jollof rice giving it my full attention.

we deliver the Jollof rice and after 30 minute the manager called me to come to the admin lab inside the company factory.

I went there and I saw some people on lab coat thanking me and saying my food taste great, like seriously I was just speechless.

Was Just looking at them confused and the manager ask me to go back to the kitchen.

Those ladies were immediately sacked and I honestly felt bad for them, and the manager would not even allow me plead on their behalf.

That day I just automatically learnt another level of humility.

I know what it means to be a gateman as I was once a kitchen cleaner at a restaurant before favour found me.
and ever since I start cooking, I dont go to the kitchen with the intention of I want to cook for a Nigerian or white man. or I want to cook for a poor or rich man.

as long as it is a living thing that want to eat the food I will prepared what every living thing can eat.
