If you want to learn how Carrot works to get a feeling for how to use the new support. Here's a reminder that I've put together a VERY detailed guide on what the deck does.
There's a lot of things you have to be on top of and the new support builds on these gimmicks. So it can be very helpful to start from a base. Thanks for Watching.
Working on a new Which One Piece Deck Is for You, and was wondering if some of these cut information sections would be worth it to add back in?
Reasons why sections were Cut: - Price Charts: It became inaccurate too quickly and were hard to guess for pre-release prices. Would delay videos to ensure quality information. - Difficulty to play: Not super relevant in one piece during previous formats, but it is getting more intense as the game goes on. - General Deck Playstyle: Very hard to adequately categorize decks. Especially since so many decks have multiple playstyles and change a lot depending on the meta.
Deck profiles haven't ever performed well on this channel, and with few exceptions tend to bleed subscribers and harm my algorithm. I'm trying to figure out how to improve them, because deck profiles are not going anywhere and are a big part to how I show love for card games.
Here are a few main reasons for why they're not popular and I'm gauging where the improvement is needed. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Alright, it's time again for my biannual video game review / retrospective. To increase how much people actually care about this, I've decided to put it up to a vote. Whatever game wins, gets a review.
Also new One Piece and Yugioh deck choice guides are in the works, lmao.
It's still going strong, but unfortunately, it's just taking a while. In order to get a large enough sample size to effectively run tests and get a clear picture I'm having to manually record the pulls from 100s of box openings. And I'm likely going to have to do a similar process for more than one set. Depending on what the data from the first set shows. As of right now, there's some differences between cases given to streamers and cases opened. However, with the current data, I can't get a picture of how statically significant this difference is or if it's a repeated pattern in many sets. Hence the need for a large data pool.
Big claims require big proof, and big proof in this case requires a sound study. It's not a very exciting process, but I'm making progress little by little. In the meantime, I'm probably going to be releasing some other videos as I've been doing.
Hello everyone, Here's an update on what videos I'm currently working on and, on a scale of 1 to 10, how likely they are to come out. If there’s one you want to see more of, leave a comment, and I’ll consider moving it up in priority.
(8) The New Player Problem (9) Risk of Rain 2 Review (5) Cross-Ban List Yugioh is a Balanced Format
(10) EBO1 Red Green Kouzuki Oden Deck Profile - Will be released later around EB01 (7) Which Yugioh Deck Is For You — Update for April/May (5) 60 Card Plant Link Deck Profile (Sunavalon, Rikka, Aroma)
(2) One Piece TCG Fundamentals (3) Why Every TCG Company is Terrible, an analysis of corporate decision-making at big companies like WOTC, Konami, and Bandai
Individual video updates and explanations:
(8) The New Player Problem
This is a general video discussing the difficulty very complex and frustrating games have trying to get new players. Yugioh, Warhammer, some fighting games, etc.
Why is the new player experience so brutal? Should accessibility be sacrificed to maintain game integrity and identity? What are the actual solutions, if any?
This video will happen eventually; the script needs a lot of passes since it’s an unfortunately heated topic to cover.
(9) Risk of Rain 2 Review
The video is technically finished, but I'm worried about my review missing an advanced edge or just being too casual throughout. For example the current version doesn’t go into builds, since they're not what I like about the game. My review focuses more on character-based strategies/options and as a general review. Honestly I just have PTSD from how my Slay the Spire review was received by the “competitive” community.
I’ll probably just end up adding some sections and redoing the section transitions. It’s been A WHILE since I started making this video. Another few days or so won't hurt.
(5) Cross-Ban List Yugioh is a Balanced Format?
Did you know that cross-ban list Yugioh is a “balanced” format? Cross-ban list is the format where players pick an old ban list and build a deck using that time’s ban list, rule set, erratas, and card pool. It’s commonly done on Lithium2300’s channel. However, it’s actually somewhat balanced if you build with this scuffed format in mind and properly structure the rules.
Current testing suggests a triad format between Tearlament Ishizu, 1999 Exodia, and OCG Pepe. Specifically with how these decks play around each other. There are a ton of other okay options, and anything that makes a floodgate and/or can run Droll, Ash, or Maxx “C” is functional. It’s awful, but technically even?
I need to do more research before progressing forward, but this scuffed format has potential and should be discussed.
(10) EBO1 Red Green Kouzuki Oden Deck Profile - Will be released later around EB01
I am currently collecting data on win rates. Just something fun to add to my already quality deck profiles.
(7) Which Yugioh Deck Is For You—Update for April/May
This video may happen, whether I want it to or not. The money and algorithm are good. Shame the format isn’t. Don’t worry though; if I make a guide, it will get the full treatment, even if I’m meh on the format.
(5) 60 Card Plant Link Deck Profile (Sunavalon, Rikka, Aroma)
My main deck Irl. Would need a ton of visuals to explain the variety of combos this deck presents and how to weave them together. Also 60 cards is probably not actually the best build even if it is the most fun.
(2) One Piece TCG Fundamentals
An overview of the basics of playing the one-piece TCG. Magic numbers, attack ordering, Don curves, deck ratios, etc.
(3) Why Every TCG Company is Terrible, an analysis of corporate decision-making at big companies like WOTC, Konami, and Bandai.
I started actually reading the annual reports and investor reports that big TCG companies put out. It’s bad, to say the least, but I'm not sure if anyone would care about the boring topic. Even if it helps explain why things are awful. Plus, it’s just depressing.
Overall, I'm a bit all over the place with what content to produce. I've had to scrap a few really good videos with a fair bit of research and work into them due to ethical issues. The biggest example was a guide on catching cheaters and avoiding scammers that ended up functioning more as a how to. Which let me say, the slow realization of what I made, absolute comedy. In other cases the economic side of card games has some topics that could do actual harm, so I can't really cover them. That's all I'll say about that.
Things have gotten busy for me, but don't worry I'll find some time for new videos. Let me know if you like this type of update. Thanks for Reading, I'll see you next time.
So I'm back to making new videos for this channel. I've managed to get most things in my life worked out and can finally dedicate some of my time to YouTube again. My uploads won't be as frequent as before but you can expect some big videos somewhat soon. I usually only do this in my discord but I want everyone to know what I have planned. Here's a rough list of videos that I may make plus a 1-10 rating for how likely they are to get finished.
- (10) Yugioh's Terror (not revealing what this one's about yet, but it's a great video with the script already done) - (10) Kin'emon deck profile post EB01 & set 6 - (7) Which Yugioh deck is for you (already have one half done from before the newest set. I'll just update that) - (7) Which One piece deck is for you - (4) Risk of Rain 2 review (I've been working on this one on and off for months now. The script has been hard for me to write, but I do like talking about video games every now and then) - (5) Accessibility in games - (5) The State of Bandai Card Games with HoangZero - (4) Why high card prices are bad for consumers, great for scalpers, and a mixed bag for stores (it's hard to justify part 2s when the first part flops. I still want to move forward with the series) - (10) Shorts will be produced to lube the algorithm
Personally, I managed to get into a graduate program at college. The reason I couldn't get in before was on the college's end. They failed to notify me through any means that they had either accepted me or rejected me. It took quite a few in-person meetings to resolve it and get them to admit fault. Once I finally got that cleared up I spent a busy few weeks catching up with my classes. Family life is still rough but I'm adapting to it better. Making sure I'm not the only one caring for my grandmother has helped a lot. Overall things are rough and a bit stressful right now but I think I'll pull through.
I've really been struggling with everything lately, so I might be taking a break with content.
Channel wise I feel like nothing I've produced has been successful. I've been trying to get a job unsuccessfully for the past year. I've bungled my entry into getting a master's degree. Like I have messed it up in such a pathetic and stupid way I can't really deal with it.
I've also been taking care of my grandmother with dementia. It's not her fault but I'm pretty beat up by the whole thing. I haven't had a single good night's sleep in the past few months and things aren't going to get any better.
Maybe if something I enjoy comes along I'll produce more videos but I'm struggling to find that right now.

Got 4th today at the Play TCG Online Regionals with Carrot.
It's my best performance in a large event, and I did it with my favorite un-tierd leader.
I was undefeated until the last round but Fizzled into 4th. I'm very sad.
My MUs were very good, And I got very lucky. I'll try with having the deck guide out ASAP. Lifes been very busy recently. Thanks for the support.

Given the recent ban list. I have decided to delay the next "Which One Piece Deck Is For You". It now needs to be remade entirely, Thanks Bandai.
That plus set rotation changing how I can recommend long term decks to new players.
Oh well, I have some other one piece videos planned in the meantime.
