Throughout my life, I've experienced a number of unhealthy relationships. Upon reflection, I realized that I subconsciously chose many of these relationships because I had unresolved issues. Over the past 6 years, I've taken a critical look at the people I engaged with and asked myself what lessons I learned from these interactions. I've come to understand that I previously expected others to 'read my mind', or just KNOW what I needed, which was not effective. Instead, I've learned to identify my needs, communicate them clearly, set boundaries when necessary, and prioritize self-care without guilt or fear of rejection. I've discovered that it's essential to express my needs and desires, accept that others may say no or quietly disengage, and be willing to walk away. I no longer pursue relationships with individuals who are unwilling to meet me halfway. I believe that collaboration and mutual care are essential components of healthy relationships. Effective communication, companionship, respect, empathy, and love are all crucial elements that foster thriving partnerships. Unrealistic expectations, coupled with poor communication, can be detrimental to relationships. As human beings, we possess the gift of communication, and it's imperative that we utilize this skill to express ourselves and navigate our relationships effectively. Healthy, love infused partnerships are beautiful experiences. We're all built for it. Let's keep learning and growing together ❤️
