Could a T-shirt reduce global warming by capturing carbon dioxide from the air? Xinterra, cofounded by Patrick Teyssonneyre MBA ’19, has created a patent-pending coating that can be incorporated into a T-shirt to soak up CO2 for up to 14 hours. The CO2 is then removed in the wash, where it reacts with laundry detergent to form harmless sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), enabling the carbon capture agents to get back to work.
