📜Statement from the Ahop Fanbase Coalition Regarding the Cancellation of Participation in the Drama/Webtoon OSTs
Hello.
We are the Ahop Fanbase Coalition.
First, we extend our deepest gratitude to all the Pohas who diligently voted to create opportunities for Ahop to participate in the OST for the drama *Love Is Coming* and the OST for the webtoon *The Reason I Die*.
Pohas invested enormous amounts of time and money to vote in order to secure OST participation opportunities for Ahop, and as a result, Ahop secured the final 1st place in both OST votes.
However, according to the information we received from the Rimatch side today, the agency F&F has stated that participation is difficult because only 3 weeks have passed since Ahop released their album, their current promotional schedule is extremely busy, and OST recording could be a burden on the members. We express our strong regret and disappointment regarding this.
We judged this OST participation opportunity as a precious chance to make Ahop's vocal abilities and name known to a wider public, and numerous Pohas actively participated in the voting, while the fandom invested massive resources, time, and energy on a collective level.
We want to ask whether the agency made sufficient efforts to adjust the schedule for Ahop's OST participation. If they simply gave up on participation solely on the grounds of "it's difficult due to the schedule" without adequate consultation and exploration of alternatives, it is hard for fans to accept this.
We fully understand that Ahop is currently in the midst of promotional activities for their 3rd mini album, and that the members' health and rest are of utmost importance. However, the agency's role is not to immediately give up important external activity opportunities, but to review and adjust schedules as much as possible within the bounds of protecting the members' health and find the best possible solution.
Fans raise questions about whether the agency sufficiently considered the long-term promotional value and significance of this OST participation. We cannot help but worry that an opportunity secured through fans' efforts was handled passively under the judgment that it lacks significant profitability or immediate benefits.
Accordingly, we request responses from the agency on the following matters.
1. The exact timing when the OST participation proposal was received 2. Whether there were actual discussions with the OST production side regarding adjustments to the recording schedule 3. The specific reasons for ultimately determining that participation is difficult 4. What responsible measures the agency will take regarding the situation of nullifying an opportunity secured through fans' votes
This issue is not merely about participation in two OST tracks. It is a matter that shows how much the agency values the results created by fans investing time and money, and how much will they have to actively secure and pursue activity opportunities for Ahop.
The agency's assumption of fans' dedication as a given, while easily giving up the opportunities created by that effort without even providing sufficient explanation to the fans, is unacceptable. Fans' efforts are not unconditional resources that the agency can utilize only when it needs them.
We urge the agency not to gloss over this matter with silence once again, and to transparently disclose the specific facts and consultation processes to the fans.
Additionally, if there is even the slightest possibility left for schedule adjustments, we strongly request immediate re-consultation with the production side to make participation in both OSTs a reality.
Efforts to promote Ahop's name and music to the public and secure more activity opportunities are the basic role that the agency must fulfill. We demand responsible responses and substantive actions so that fans' trust is no longer damaged. If there is no proper explanation from the agency, the Fanbase Coalition plans to take measures such as refusing participation in votes and suspending fanbase activities.
