I don't know if I'll have time to make a video about this announcement itself, but here's Dark Horse's second big manga announcement for the week.

For those unfamiliar, this was Makoto Yukimura's work before Vinland Saga and one of my favorite manga. I first read this via the Tokyopop editions, later picked up DH's two volume set, and will also grab these hardcovers day one. It's a beautiful sci-fi drama series that I try to recommend as much as I possibly can.

The HC's look to be 1:1 with their paperback releases so if you just want to try it out I'd recommend going that way since the cost of these is literally two times the MSRP of the paperbacks, but trust me, this art is going to be gorgeous on these deluxe size pages.

At this rate I really need to do a "Most Wanted Dark Horse Deluxe HC Manga" video soon or everything I want's going to wind up getting announced!

Kingdom has been licensed by VIZ Media, but we have a lack of information at this time, so I will not post a video about it until after VIZ's second round of announcements this Friday. [UPDATE: Due to VIZ's twitter having been hacked earlier in the week they've delayed the second half of the announcements (including Kingdom) to next Friday, 2/7. In their post about the delay they did hint at the Kingdom announcement with a crown emoji and calling it their most requested license.]

My friend Will, aka FireLunar, sent links from both Amazon and Barnes & Noble to me this morning for the digital edition of Volume 2. I want to wait for the full announcement to ensure that it is also a physical release, to see if they mention if its a 2-in-1 or 3-in-1, and if they will offer any information about the release schedule since it's such a long series.

There should be other announcements from VIZ alongside this on Friday, but they may also pop up early on retailer sites since the catalog is already out there.

An updated library tour is coming very soon. This is why I've been MIA (again).

I posted a quick (10 minutes) tour on TikTok this weekend and have been talking through the process of setting up this new library over the past several months on Twitter, but haven't mentioned it yet in here. The rebuild has been slowly happening, but I had to recently rush to a conclusion which took a lot of my time away from being able to make any other content. It's done now (aside from a few things I need to get for aesthetic purposes) and I'll release a full tour as soon as I can. And then I'll have a buyers guide to take you all through the holidays, covering the books from both November and December.

Looking into the new year I'm hoping I'll have the time again to return to making regularly scheduled content, but if not then I'll do my best to keep people abreast of the situation on here or on other platforms.

I haven't done a community post in a while, but I thought it would be pertinent to do one now!

I've had a lot of trouble lately keeping up with my content, and it's only gotten worse, so instead of continuing to kid myself and pretend like I can keep up with all aspects of my life and still release content ON TIME (laughs) I've finally brought on someone to help me with this.

From this video forward I've hired a long time viewer of this channel (and many of my friends channels, as well as mod for our group livestream channel), James to help make graphics for my videos. This will alleviate a lot of the stress for me and will help me finally get back to putting out my content on time. Meaning that together James and I are already getting to work on the September Manga Buyer's Guide!

Additionally, since I wasn't able to get a video about Anime Expo announcements out immediately after the con ended (Hurricane Beryl left us without power for about a week, and then directly thereafter I had COVID. Yay!) I decided that I'll do a huge video covering all the licenses announced throughout the summer con season. So all the things announced from AX, SDCC, Anime Boston, Anime NYC, and anything in between (whether it was at a con or not) will be featured in this huge video! Our plan is to have that out the second week of September, and I think with James' help that should no longer be an issue.

If you've been missing my content on TikTok, I apologize, I had to take a break there after starting a new job and haven't been able to return. As well, if you follow me on Twitter (@omnicollector) you might have seen I'm moving my whole library again, so that's been taking up a lot of my free time. Hopefully I'll get to do a new tour video in the next couple of months once we're all set up again.

I think that's all I have to share for now! Thank you all for your incredible patience with me, I'm hoping that'll now pay off since I've decided to stop being so stubborn. And if you saw me at Anime NYC this past weekend thanks so much for saying hello! I hope to see some of you again at later conventions!

Hi!

I apologize for the lack of content after Anime Expo; I spent last week recovering after finally getting back home Thursday morning and had planned on filming over the weekend to have a couple of videos out by now. However, Sunday I became pretty sick and there was unfortunately no way I could have filmed any content. I am currently ALMOST 100% better, so please don't worry about my health or wellbeing, but I just wanted to address the delay and also mention that if all goes according to plan I should film something tomorrow.

Also I had a truly great time at Anime Expo and I'm currently starting to plan for Anime NYC in November :)
