1. More Money in Hand at Retirement
Earlier you had to put 40% of your corpus into annuity. Now it’s reduced to 20%
- Corpus > ₹12 Lakh: You can take 80% as lump sum, 20% must go to annuity
- Corpus < ₹8 Lakh: You can withdraw 100% as lump sum. No annuity needed
- ₹8 Lakh - ₹12 Lakh: Take ₹6 Lakh lump sum + withdraw rest in 6 years through SUR

2. Annuity Surrender Now Allowed
Earlier annuity was irreversible. Now *PFRDA allows surrender in 2 cases
1. Critical illness
2. Old annuity policies that already had surrender clauses

3. Lower Lock-in & Higher Age Limit
- Vesting period reduced: Now 15 years or age 60, whichever is earlier
- Govt employees: Can stay in NPS till 85 years instead of 75
- Systematic Withdrawal*: You can keep non-annuitized money in NPS and withdraw till age 85

4. Lower Charges from July 1, 2026
- Tier II AMC = Same as Tier I now
- Balance < ₹1000 in Tier II: No AMC charge
