9 Stand Out Galleries at ART BASEL PARIS 2025 🇫🇷 ✨

1. FOKSAL. The new paintings by Paulina Olowska, the ceramics by Pawel Althamer, the textile collages by Malgorzata Mirga-Tas — who had already shown her best at Frieze and is also very present in other stands here. And at the back, two small paintings dated 2025 by Wilhelm Sasnal. Also remarkable are the oil-on-marble works by Karol Palczak. At the center, five new sculptures by Monika Sosnowska in concrete and aluminum.

2. ANTON KERN. The booth of the New York gallerist features a structured exhibition rather than a simple group display. One wall resembles a picture gallery, showing David Shrigley’s works on paper, with a small opening revealing an inner exhibition room. Another section presents Francis Upritchard’s sculptures, including lamps. The remaining space displays other key gallery artists, along with chairs and a desk by Martino Gamper, also available for sale.

3. MATTHEW MARKS. The gallery once again focuses on refined presentation and major names from its roster. Its display benefits from a position directly opposite the main entrance of the fair, aligned with the glass roof of the Grand Palais. On the floor is a sculpture by Trisha Donnelly; on the walls, works by Jasper Johns, Pablo Picasso, Robert Gober, and Ellsworth Kelly. At the back, a large new mixed-media work on linen by Laura Owens.

4. PETER FREEMAN. The booth stands out for its minimalist and precise presentation. On the floor are nine metal sculptures by Walter De Maria, reflecting a two-color neon work by Dan Flavin, among his earliest in that format. The display also includes works by Franz Erhard Walther — a reworking of a piece from 40 years ago — as well as Silvia Bachli, Richard Tuttle, and Fernanda Gomes. A large wall is dedicated to Robert Filliou’s works in cardboard boxes.

5. CARDI. The Italian gallery Cardi presents a booth dedicated entirely to Italian art. The display features works by Mimmo Paladino, Domenico Bianchi, Jannis Kounellis, Giulio Paolini, Dadamaino (also shown at Frittelli), Mimmo Rotella, and Carla Accardi. Positioned toward the aisles is a synthetic-material sculpture by Vincenzo De Cotiis.

6. KARSTEN GREVE. The gallery presents a selection that includes a series of 1990s sculptures by John Chamberlain. On the walls are monochrome works by the late Chinese artist Qiu Shihua. At the center stands a bronze sculpture by Cy Twombly; one corner features three sculptures by Louise Bourgeois, and another includes works by Joseph Beuys. Also on view are small oil paintings on canvas by Gideon Rubin. Throughout the booth, books and catalogs published by the gallery over the years are displayed.

7. EVA PRESENHUBER. This year, the renowned Austrian-Swiss gallerist once again earns a place in the highlights of the fair with one of its most striking booths. The space, minimalist and atmospheric, feels almost otherworldly—defined by grey walls and flooring, and featuring only three monumental sculptures by Ugo Rondinone.

8. KARIMANZUTTO. The Mexican galley has set up a museum-quality booth designed as a full retrospective of the artist Marta Minujín. The display includes recent works, pieces created this year, wall-mounted works, immersive and interactive installations, and several historical works from the very beginning of her career (the 1960s) by this important Argentine conceptual and performance artist.

9. JAN KAPS. The Cologne gallery features three paintings by Ethiopian artist Selome Muleta focused on the female body. Also on display are rows of small anthropomorphic wooden sculptures by South African artist Helena Uambembe, which address politics and colonialism; she also presents two paintings. Both thirty-something artists exhibit on walls covered with a delicate pinkish metal mesh “wallpaper.”
