When love is no longer for love’s sake,

And becomes a duty.

It lays roads where anger once ruled,
Builds laws so the weak may sleep,
Teaches restraint to power
And mercy to victory.

This love does not sing ballads.
It writes constitutions,
Raises schools,
Preserves memory against the erosion of time.

It chooses dialogue over domination,
Shared bread over stolen land,
And tomorrow over immediate triumph.

Civilizations do not fall from hatred alone—
They collapse when love shrinks
To tribe, to ego, to self.

To love for the world’s sake
Is to protect strangers you will never meet,
To plant order where chaos is tempting,
To govern desire so humanity may endure.

This is not soft love.
It is the hardest discipline.
The kind that turns animals into citizens,
And moments into centuries.
