🎓 Met with new and prospective Catholics at the Institut Catholique de Paris
🛣️ Rode the popemobile down the Champs-Élysées to cheering crowds
⛪ Celebrated an open-air Mass at Place de la Concorde — drawing an estimated 800,000 people!
🕯️ Concluded the day with prayers at the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes

🛬 Welcomed at Orly Airport by President Macron
🏛️ Met with civil authorities at the Élysée Palace
🏫 Visited UNESCO headquarters
⛪ Presided over Vespers at the newly rebuilt Notre-Dame Cathedral
🏟️ Closed the night with a prayer vigil for almost 80,000 young people at the Stade de France

When I was young, my family and I often visited my grandmother in Malacca (Melaka), Malaysia during our school holidays.

One of my most treasured memories is my Pa taking my brother and me to a stall just like this one to pick out our lanterns during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Looking up at the colorful lanterns in different shapes and trying to choose the perfect one, it was all pretty magical. Then we'd light it and walk around with it, mesmerized by its warm glow. Simple joys that stay with you. 🥰

I love St. Francis of Assisi's prayer of peace. Pope Leo XIV mentioned it in his homily in the Mass at Assisi, Italy today.

Tomorrow I'm sharing something that's been a long time coming.

In 2014, I walked 874 kilometres across northern Spain: the Camino de Santiago Frances, and then the Camino Fisterra all the way to the end of the known world before Columbus changed the map. When I got home, I meant to write a reflection on what it had done to me. Life happened. Twelve years passed.

Someone asked in the comments recently: "What made you move to Cambodia?"

Tomorrow, finally — that reflection. Not a travelogue of what happened on the road, but what the Camino actually changed in me, and why I think it led directly to my move to Cambodia.
