The kayak is coming along slowly, I'm just in the process of adding the kumiko to the deck. Just letting you know that it's going to take a while. I may have to put it aside again and get another quick video done. :)

Overnight my subscriber count on YouTube reached the 1 million mark. It really is only a number but it’s a pretty special milestone that I honestly never expected when I started out making videos.
I gave up my job 5-ish years ago to see if I could make some sort of living from my workshop and YouTube wasn’t even something I’d thought about at that point. But with a bit of luck, hard work and the huge amount of support from anyone that’s commented or encouraged me along the way, I’m now very lucky to be making a living doing what I do.
Thank you! 😊

Latest project - reclaimed star picket shop stools. I’ll age the paint work to look vintage and make wooden seats. Video shouldn’t be too far away. 😊

Next project shouldn’t be too far away. It’s a bedside table for my daughter Jessica, just needs legs and finishing. 😊

Next cogs are in progress. They’re all at different stages and need more work yet to get to their final shape. Hopefully they shouldn’t take too long to finish. 😊

The shaping is going well. All done with hand tools and these templates as guides. The next ones should go quicker now I’ve worked out a method. 😊

This is what I’m working on at the moment. I have no need for a wooden plane propeller but after seeing them in a museum I couldn’t resist trying to make one! 😊

All finished apart from the front knob which still needs another coat of wax. Next up, editing the video. 😊

Making some good progress on the scraper plane. I remade the knob which I much prefer, gave it a coat of hard wax oil and started the hardware.
The knurled nuts are bronze which I made on my wood lathe - I need to get a metal lathe. They’re not perfect and look homemade which I’m perfectly happy with. I need to shape the frog and screw support then make a blade and lever cap. The video is already over half an hour!
