What better setting than a traditional Shanghai-style barbershop in my hometown, Hong Kong, to bring this set to life?
Curated a selection of records from the 1960s to the 1980s that encapsulate my research on Afro-Latin influences in East Asia, specifically in Cantonese and Mandarin speaking regions, showcasing how cultures naturally intersect and blend over time.
A big thank you to @collabhk_official and @isaacwoo team for inviting me to collaborate on this vinyl set and for capturing the essence of Hong Kong. From the music selection to the atmosphere, every detail reflects the deep cultural connections that continue to shape the soundscape of East Asia.
