I’m thinking of experimenting with a more video essay style video about how ALF was one of the most popular shows in the 80s, but the creator insisted on maintaining the illusion of Alf being a real alien, which involved extremely elaborate and expensive sets for the show, as well as him turning down huge opportunities like having Alf host Saturday Night Live because he refused to let the audience see the puppeteers controlling Alf, and how this ultimately ended up killing the character’s momentum and getting the show canceled—exploring the idea of how one’s endless devotion to their creative vision can end up destroying them.
