The Silver Lining with Kelly

This isn’t a haul channel. The Silver Lining with Kelly is a slow hunt — for the right piece, the right story, the right table. Sterling silver, silver plate, vintage china and crystal: where it came from, what it means, and how to actually use it. Serialized. Story-driven. Occasionally obsessive.

A Birthday Estate Sale Win! 🎉✨

I found this gorgeous vintage Italian Mancer strawberry pitcher yesterday for just $30 — and it couldn’t have been better timing. It’s going straight into my collection, right in the middle of scripting an episode all about the history of Majolica.

Keep an eye out for tomorrow’s episode on The Silver Lining with Kelly, where we’ll dive into:
🍓 The fascinating difference between Maiolica and Majolica
🍓 Why pitchers are my favorite height element for styling vignettes
🍓 My personal collecting philosophy — function and beauty over being a “completist”

Drop a 🍓 in the comments if you love vintage pottery, and tell me your favorite estate sale find!

A Sunday morning confession... ☕️✨

Good morning everyone! Today's new video is officially live, and it is a deeply personal one for me. We are diving into the beautiful, crisp world of Fostoria Americana glass—a pattern that belonged to my parents, and one of the few tangible things I have of theirs.
But because I promise to always keep it real with you as we navigate the world of antiquing, I am also sharing a mistake I made. I bought a piece thinking it was Fostoria, only to realize later it was actually Whitehall.

The good news? It only cost me $3, it's still beautiful, and it taught me the exact 3-point authentication check I’m sharing with you today so you don't make my mistake!

Grab your coffee and join me for a slow Sunday morning chat. Link to the video is in the comments below!Let me know what you think! 🤍

The Silver Lining with Kelly

My first estate sale video is officially live! Instead of just showing a random haul, I'm breaking down the exact strategy and prep work I use to spot true value-including the tools I use on my phone right in the middle of a crowded room so I never overpay.
We're talking Google Lens tricks, Etsy comp realities, and the crucial difference between"proof" and "provenance" when you're trying to authenticate a find.

Quick Question: What is your absolute favorite, go-to category to hunt for when you go to an estate sale? (Glassware, textiles, vintage art, furniture?) Let me know in the comments!

The Silver Lining with Kelly

"He drove the landing craft at Normandy..." 🇺🇸

My grandfather, Frank R. Wilson, was a Motor Machinist’s Mate in the U.S. Coast Guard. For nearly 50 years, his burial flag sat tucked away in a cardboard box, wrapped in tissue paper. I finally brought it back into the light, alongside his wartime portrait, ribbons, and a special childhood charm bracelet he bought me during the 1976 Bicentennial.

This shadow box isn't just a collection of old items—it's his story. I’ve been so deeply moved by the stories many of you have shared with me this week about your own parents, grandparents, and children serving in the military. It has reminded me that our heirlooms deserve to be seen and honored, not hidden away in closets.
If you haven't had a chance to hear his story yet, the link to the latest video is below. I'd love to hear about the history you are preserving in your own home in the comments. 🤍
