Today, we celebrate one of the most important days in our country’s history. Jamhuri Day is not just a public holiday — it is the story of our freedom, our identity, and our pride as Kenyans.

On this day in 1963, Kenya officially gained independence from colonial rule. And exactly one year later, in 1964, we became a republic. That is why this day carries so much weight — it marks both our political freedom and the birth of our nation as we know it today.

Jamhuri Day reminds us of the brave men and women who fought, sacrificed, and dreamed of a free Kenya. Their courage opened the doors that we walk through so freely today. We honor their struggle, their pain, and their vision for a country where every Kenyan has a voice and a place to belong.

But it’s not only about the past — it’s also about the present and the future.
