Off-world archives vol. 007 | The ancient equilibrium

On worlds infected by the Planetbreaker, colossal organisms grow from deep within their host planets, coexisting with them for ages.
Their maturation unfolds over vast spans of time. On a cosmic scale, this is hardly an eternity. But to the civilizations born on those worlds, it can span the entirety of recorded history.
Mountains erode. Coastlines shift. Civilizations rise and disappear. Yet the organisms remain, changing so slowly that no living observer may ever witness any change at all.
To the civilizations born on these worlds, they have always been part of nature itself—more enduring than the mountains, and seemingly as old as the world itself.
Some civilizations advance far enough to draw energy directly from their immense bodies, using it to build cities, develop new technologies, and sustain entire societies around what appears to be a stable symbiosis.
They believe they have found an ancient equilibrium.
In reality, they are living through an unfinished stage of growth.
By the time one of these organisms finally reaches maturity and the host world has been fully incorporated into its body, entire civilizations may already have risen, flourished, collapsed, and been replaced many times over.
To the organism, it was only a phase of development. To those who lived there, it may have been all of history.

Off-world archives vol. 004 | The weight of information

At some point in their history, this civilization discovered that gravity was not simply a consequence of mass, but a macroscopic expression of information density embedded in spacetime.

From that moment on, mass no longer had to dictate gravitational behavior.

Deep within each mechanical planet, a Metric Regulation Core continuously rewrites the surrounding spacetime, allowing planetary-scale structures to exist impossibly close to one another without catastrophic gravitational or tidal interaction.

The enormous openings across their surfaces are known as Metric Interface Wells - structures through which the planetary core directly couples with the spacetime around it.

Off-world archives vol. 001 | The energy reaver

In a distant star system, a civilization had finally completed its planetary-scale mechanical satellite ark.
Then two unidentified energy-harvesting entities appeared out of nowhere—and everything changed.
With almost no effort, they redirected the ark’s entire energy reserve into the planet’s energy infrastructure, consolidating it into a single source… ready for extraction.
